I don't suppose anyone has a log of what Syvelium looked like before merging with Arion?
I'm searching my logs (about 900MB worth of textfiles), but it's damn near impossible since I can't figure out how to search through textfiles for a specific word or phrase inside without opening each and every one up on its own.
Anyone have tips on how to do this? (Currently using Windows 8, all files are .txt)
Notepad++ (along with most IDEs) have a 'Search through files...' option.

I don't know how well it works with Win8, but I've been using it with Win7 and it's great. You can search for certain words and word/symbol pairings really easily. Hope it helps.
Also, how do people always mess up the quoting, it even has little bars to show where they start and stop
@Alistaire: Here you go! And thanks to @Zun and @Rho for the help in how to perfect my search.
Dressed in pristine leather armour, under an equally pristine white shirt and cape, Syvelium wears a spotless pair of pants and a shirt with a cape drawn over it. The cape is lined in blue with intricate embroidery upon it. His face is well tanned and with a few scars. Despite the worn appearance, there is a gentleness in his eyes, and a look of wisdom. Upon his side is tethered a huge metal sheath, holding an elegant holy blade. A soft glow is faintly visible near the hilt of the sword.
Tension fills the air as Illidan locks his attention on you. A burst of forked bolts of lightning strike your body with sharp cracks, your body locked in spasms for the duration.
The air around you hums with residual static energy and another painful jolt wracks your body.
But then nothing seems to come of it? What are these?
Delayed shaman attack. Depending on how many of the four hard-to-cure afflictions you have on yourself, it stuns and causes heavy damage after a 6-second delay. If it's set up correctly (which isn't hard with their heavy amounts of masked affs) and you don't leave the room in those 6 seconds. you're dead. The most dangerous affliction of the four (stormtouched) can be scripted around, but experience indicates that even that is not enough.
As much as it pains me to say, we did a really poor job balancing shamans in pre-release testing.
The messages you listed in your second post is staticburst. It deals electricity damage and a mental aff. Iirc, if boosted the mental affs are hidden. It will proc periodically after it's cast, perhaps 3-4?
Don't forget you can test all of these things yourself by heading into the Spirean arena with the class pick mod!
To be more precise on omen, the damage is 13.5% of your max health in unblockable plus 1.25s or so of stun per omen aff (blighted, infested, stormtouched, that last one that apparently no one uses because it's too dangerous and whose name I forget) plus 1.25s or so of stun. Despite it being classified as 'unblockable', it's very much resistible by certain defenses and the amount you take will be less than what it's calculated out to be.

I daresay that because YOU can't cure the afflictions doesn't suddenly make them hard-to-cure.
@Moirean: That humming is staticburst. It deals electric damage + 2 random mental affs. If it's boosted, it deals electricity damage, and delivers 3 mental affs instead of 2. The three of them are also hidden. Omen has 4 afflictions, each one dealing 13.5% of your max HP, and 1.25 seconds of stun, like Serrice said.
The four affs are Infested, Blighted, Stormtouched, and Spiritbane.
Infest is readily useable, and cured by eating the proper herb/renewing/tree. When you are infested, the Shamans attacks will consume no energy when cast upon you.
Blight is also readily useable, and cured in the same fashion that infest is (herb/renew/tree). When you are blighted, you take heavy damage when you move.
The two above afflictions can become uncurable if you are afflicted with Premonition, which is only curable by focusing, or leaving the room. Premonition also sits at the bottom of the focus tree, but it's possible to prioritize mental afflictions to help rid yourself of it. Seir did surpisingly well for a long while, until I realized that Citadel didn't deal with hidden Premonition at all. If he'd have cured that, I wouldn't have been able to stick infest/blight so easily.
Stormtouched is delivered the feather fetish, of which the Shaman can only have 3 strung on their staff at a time, and the affliction is gained and lost in the same fashion. You have to cure two afflictions from the same tree in a row to gain it, and do the same to lose it.
Spiritbane is delivered by the Ice fetish, which I never use because I don't see it ever being worth it unless i'm fighting a Syssin. Activating it requires the Shaman to be at 50% HP or lower at all times. As long as it is active, all lightning based attacks that Shamans deliver will heal them for a minor amount, but never past 50% HP. It also stops any health regeneration for the person afflicted with it. If you ever pass 50% of your max HP, you have 10 seconds before the Spiritbane affliction wears off.
The damage on Omen is also adjustable by sensitivity, which I often like to hide under blackout just before the omen lands. Someone afflicted with Sensitivity, an Infested/Blighted/Stormtouched Omen, followed by a chain of staticburst and Stormbolt spells instant death. There's also Vitalbane that nixes your health sip by a significant amount.
"And finally, swear to Me: You will give your life to Dendara for you are Tiarna an-Kiar."
I'm just going to put this here, Stormtouched is the most annoying affliction to write a cure in, very nice and simple to prevent, but for whatever reason if you get it it's going to stick unless you get extremely lucky or write a new method of curing through herbs that takes into account a new priority, toggled by class, and what the last herb you cured was and to wait until you get another one of that value, also to prevent all herbs in that table from being cured by every other means.
Also ILLIDAN-KUNSAMAFORAMADAMAONEECHANSENPAI thanks.

I'll have to say that while I survived Illidan for an extended period of time, I was forced on the defensive for about 90% of the fight.
However, fighting one heavily artifacted Shaman doesn't really give me the experience necessary to comment on their state.
Looks at cures concoctions though, it's really weird seeing them so low on the charts, so that's likely a part of the problem.
As you train in Avoidance, you will learn the art of controlling your prana-musculature in order to avoid physical attacks (such as a sword) or lessen the damage received from a physical attack by partially dodging it and thus taking the wound on a less damaging place.
There are five different Dodge/Divert types: * Melee - Cutting/blunt damage melee attacks. * Ranged - Ranged physical attacks, such as arrows, and throwing. * Charges - Any attack which moves the user from one room to another. * Upsets - Avoiding balance and equilibrium loss on attacks. * All - All of the above, but with a far smaller chance.
How does Ranged, Charges and Upsets work in pk? Does it give an actual chance to dodge, thus avoiding the effect (for example room movers) or just lessen the damage? What's the chance in any case?
Does anyone use a font other than the default Courier? Just curious.
Courier New >_>
I must be really weird, because I've always used Fixedsys, Regular, 10.
"Hell hath no hold on a warrior’s mind, see how the snow has made each of us blind. Vibrant colors spray from new dead, staining the earth such a beautiful red."
I assume he asked about how to transition? Those posts were hard for me to constantly find when old people returned, so I just made a GHELP about it. >_>
