Now a while ago we got a new trainee at work and to my exciting it was another girl! Yay! Well, woman. She'd been down on her luck for a while before the government organised this for her. She worked hard, was smart and generally awesome person. She's the person that went to bat for me when people started snarking at work about how I was taking time off because my dog passed away.
While she was moving here from her previous town she aggrevated a previous injury in her foot and wasn't allowed to wear a shoe on that foot for six weeks. She took it in her stride and helped out about the office. After a few weeks her foot got worse. Turns out the internal stitches they put internally when she had had surgery to fix it weren't dissolvable so she had another surgery to take them out. Another 6 weeks in the office.
Then she was working on the weekend and was driving to hand deliver urgent job paperwork to someone and she hits a kangaroo which send her careening into a tree. No phone reception so she drives the car to a friends place and goes to hospital. Thankfully light back injury and a bit of whiplash on bulk pain killers.
I go on holidays for a month, get sick so it's about 2 months until I return to work and she's not there. One day she didn't turn up for work, which is weird because she's one of those people who comes early and stays late, goes the extra mile etc. Boss goes around to her house to see if she is okay and finds her unable to talk or move. Straight to hospital - she's had a stroke.
She gets flown down to Brisbane, put into a coma and operated on. When they feel like she's okay to wake up they do it. She still can't talk but she's aware and alert... then has a seizure. She's put back into a coma. For the past month she's been in and out of comas because they can't figure out what's wrong with her. On top of that they discovered she has a hole in her heart and throat cancer.
Just, bugger off Karma, God. Whoever. Just leave her the hell alone for a while.

Trying to learn Go, and every other word I have to jump to a hyperlink to figure out wtf the word means, and every article starts with, basically, 'This word you don't know from a language you don't speak means : '
Hi, I speak English. You speak English. If 'hane' means 'reach' (or close enough), then maybe just call it reach. Or write entirely in Japanese and tell me I can't play. But make up your mind and stop with the random vocabulary words, I don't want to have to make flashcards to learn to play a board game.
EDIT: And this goes for Kendo too, oh man. 'Jyouge suburi' - just call it overhead swing or something. There's a whole language for this, don't import a java compiler for your C++ code.
After 2 pies, apple crisp, and cake, I still have eight apples left. And all my fingers, fortunately.
How do I make un-cinnamony applesauce? For pie filling I've been doing a pan of 7-8 apples sliced and peeled, bake 10 min at 325, then add 1 cup sugar and some cornstarch, fridge 10 min. Only for applesauce I assume I will be bashing them vigorously with a spatula.

Hence why this is the first time I've forced myself to go to urgent care, since my doctor was unavailable.

For the last hour, a continuous tone of a dying APC. 73 out of 125 updates done on the computer I am shutting down so I can replace it.
Signed paperwork today.
Signed for a truck last week, sign for an apartment next week. Tried to find the silver lining in that little truck - it's smaller and older than the FJ I've been driving for 3 years, but still decent. And the payments are half of what they were.
Except that 2000 down payment, plus the 650 deposit on the apartment. Plus the 500 in hotel charges (to a hotel in a state I wasn't even in) to my gov card, which I have to eat until I get it disputed and sorted out (it's a hotel fuckup, not fraudulent). Moving expenses for two parties, one of which is traveling across the country. Shipping and boarding my dogs.
18 days until I'm rocking out on a standard issue cot in a 1 bedroom apartment by myself for the first time in seven years, because I'm giving her everything except the kitchen table, my laptop, and 3 boxes of personal belongings.
19 month old son moving 3100 miles away. That's the killer, man.
Sorry I've been such a dick for the last couple months. Shitty days + can't sleep + buy whiskey = most of those Enorian forays. Still, I'm responsible and so I'm sorry. Trying to find my zen lately, and just chill. I think I've been doing a little better. Be done and over in a couple of weeks, anyway.
Maybe I'll have the focus to build some stuff. Sorry, hadrak/ghend/whoever I've talked to about projects.
