Haha I remember @Ison using Lyre in the Year 400 Survivor events. The admin totally trolled him by letting it fly and having the mobs ignore him for 90% of the event. Then once there were about 100 mobs gathered in that room with him they spawned a Lyre-breaking mob.
My personal inclination on lyre IS to make it PvE only.
Not a change I would recommend/endorse, as it'd effectively make the lyre useless outside of some very niche scenarios, but we can discuss that when/if someone makes a lyre-related report.
I'm aware @Ilyon. The problem is it seems to be a favored tactic when some groups get together and it leaves little people with insta-kills doing just that. Insta-gibbing someone out of the fight. A little bit of coordination goes a long way.

Honestly, lyre would be fine if some things that had been changed in the past would be undone. I'm ok with with mentis going through it (they whisper) but at some point it was made that hellsight didn't (they stare at you). Neither are physical attacks and the disproportionate way that things go through while others don't (including hellsight used to go through and at some point was shadow changed not to) is what really bugs me about it.

Force strips it but puts me off eq for 4 seconds. Hellsight is shorter, and if they choose to stay behind barrier and not cure it, they're screwed. You can also strum lyre again before I get eq back.

Lyre's just really icky to balance. Some classes can lol at it (Mentis berserk/masochism), some classes can't do anything but stand there and cry.

Kill him? It has no cooldown and its earth absorb, Shamans have the same thing.. So do luminaries, kinda (evoke fire self)
Tarot card cures 2 random affs and has a 40s or so cooldown. Earth absorb (what he was using) has a 10s cooldown and cures 2 random affs.
Shaman/Luminary does not have a cooldown and cures 2 random affs.
EDIT: They're stopped by broken arms, or PARALYSIS but not PARESIS.
Luminary's evoke fire self cures 1 random affliction and is only stopped by paralysis or prone. Maybe just any "proning"/writhing affliction save paresis. Broken arms won't stop Lumi cleanse.

K, good to know. Teradrim absorb won't cure even with 1 broken arm, but I've seen Shaman pancake cure a broken arm before. Thought Luminary self-cure was 2 affs, but guess not - I know Teradrim is if they're in the desert/sand environment, and Shamans only works in forest/overgrowth but cures 2 always afaik.
There is a fetish that allows shaman abilities to ignore the broken arm. The shaman gets 3 fetish slots, so if they choose this one they are not choosing a different one, which is the theoretical balance for what is a powerful effect.
I rarely use that particular fetish but know that it is there, ready to go if needed.
I don't know the place of the new affliction mirroring or if anything else was added since @Missari and I compiled that list (mainly her but shh!) but I'll be happy to do some testing!

I really think this kind of information should have its own help file, like help cures concoctions/reanimation. Or be part of the afflict list descriptions. Or have it's own syntax as a part of learning the ability in Survival. Yeah yeah, IDEA 3968 and 3969 written!

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but there wasn't anywhere else to really put it. As I'm going through Carni defenses, I've noticed some things were missing the 'You have gained the x defence' line, and figured I'd compile these for @Oleis@Keroc or @Razmael for the sake of consistency.
