The cities do have independent RP, though. If you think that everyone in Enorian cares about everything Duiran does and the other way around...well, that's just not the case. But there has been a lot of roleplay and working together that has built up the relationship that Duiran and Enorian have. I understand that that relationship leads to frustration at the moment for people in Spinesreach and Bloodloch, but - at the risk of sounding callous - that's not a -tether- issue. If Bloodloch and Spinesreach have a strained relationship, like Duiran and Enorian have had to some extent in the past, then maybe work needs to go into strengthening that relationship, and it's not something that will just change over night.

Hi folks,

I've just updated HELP AEGISPK to be clearer when it comes to defensive rights regarding them. Specifically:

Nobody but the owner has defensive rights on an aegis UNLESS that aegis is in a location owned by an organisation you are a member of, or a location that you personally own such as a shop, personal residence and so on. If you plant an aegis somewhere public that makes others want to destroy it, that is your responsibility and yours alone.

(Yes, this means planting an aegis somewhere public and using it as cause-bait to bring a large team to defend it is not allowed)

If you are planting aegises in the event locations and logging off, that is a risk you take.

Further, I'd like to remind everyone of this section in HELP PK:

Any time you assist another player, or group of players, in slaying someone - you are expected to have a strong reason to help kill them.

Please keep this in mind when deciding whether your friend who just initiated a fight really needs six of you to come and save them from something they started.

Please keep this in mind when deciding whether you have a stake in a conflict beyond 'it's my friend'.

And please keep this in mind when deciding to file issues because you jumped into a fight that had nothing to do with you and were later killed for it.

I didn't claim I hate anything. My logic has always been: "If you're involving yourself in PK outside of established open PK areas, you are opening yourself up for retaliation by taking action against another player." Last I checked, none of you guys are the Ascendril that planted that aegis.

That would be relevant if the aegis wasn't in a contested zone in the narrative. You are comparing apples to oranges and insisting that, since they are both fruit (aegis), they both must clearly taste the same. That's just not the case.

In your scenario, you used an aegis for cause over an unreasonable length of time and wouldn't let it go. The aegis wasn't really anywhere special.

In our scenario, we are bulldogging people away from the aegis and not hunting them at all. If they come back to the area, what are we expected to think? The aegis is in one of three zones in the entire game and we aren't expanding that list.

There's a world of difference and you're ignoring it for the sake of being tribal.

Me sitting over here finding it hilarious that the people who clamored for HELP AEGISPK are the ones violating it, and not only that: using the logic from the first ruling that was later overturned to justify their actions when they were the ones who ranted until it happened.
You should play the game before remarking on what's actually going on in it.
Why would I want to when people are acting like this?
Let's not kid ourselves, the reason HELP AEGISPK exists is because you play the exact same way that you are claiming you hate...

All I see is a bunch of people just dogpiling on one person and then trying to avoid the consequences.

You got issued for trying to hunt down players for days long after your Aegis got destroyed, not for actively defending it as I recall.

Mjoll got killed for being 1 room away from an Aegis in active warzone. I think it would be completely reasonable, regardless of if it's shadow or spirit, to defend whoever's Aegis it is given the context of what's going on, whether the person who made it is online or not. Otherwise, the PK rules need to be spelled out to the letter for reasons like this.

I don't see how people keep trying to equate these two things. And please, stop being childish and flagging related comments as off topic because you literally do not play the game.

Your scenario is also different. HELP AEGISPK exists because you were killing people for some of the things now expressly forbidden inside that file.

Today, people are vagueposting because I led groups the last two days killing anybody who dampens an aegis in 3 specific zones in the game that have high importance to the narrative right now.

I would argue that these are different because you weren't doing yours because of an event - you just wanted to knock some skulls.

Some of you need to have a good, hard read of the PK rules again and stop with the "rules for thee, not for me" mentality.

Is your name on the Aegis?

All of these rules are lesser than the greater PK rules and do not override them. So if it was (real
life) weeks ago, move on. It needs to make narrative sense, and an Aegis isn't important enough to
plot revenge for (in game) years.

3. Raising shrines in and of itself is not sufficient grounds for PK, unless the shrine is being raised in an area that has some significance to you/your organisations. There needs to be more context than simply raising a shrine. Even if your character has a beef with the God in question - start a Holy War or defile the shrines instead.

I would say that what we're doing is inside the rules.

@Nipsy from an IC prospective, my character has taken a huge step back and let you all do what you wish, and has not brought up anything of the past. It seems you are stuck on bring this part up, and those damn casks for some reason. Which was talked about ICly about 3 to 4 (ooc) weeks ago, and since then, Macavity has been focusing on himself, the city and generally helping if called upon. There is nothing wrong with these actions, and still contributes to the health of the guild. His job as trade minister shows a positive for the guild.

I am not sure why you keep saying it might not be a good fit, like your goal was to get rid of Macavity from the start.

As for whistleblowing, the start of this post was all about whistleblowing on the last leadership of the guild, and you joined in on that band wagon. To be clear I do not see this post as whistleblowing, more of criticism of the guild and its leadership. Which the lot of you seemed perfectly fine with attacking those in leadership prior to the current one. I guess criticism of the current leadership isn't fair game like the last one was. Seems hypocritical to me.

Criticism is actually healthy for any group, but really my post was more of what else has happened outside of what I have observed. I know things happen in the background so I was curious. I also realize that my words may seem harsh and to be honest, I could write a post full of rainbows and flowers, praising every single person in the game, and a number of you would still read it as I am attacking you.

tl;dr - criticism of old leadership good, criticism of current leadership bad. So noted, I always forget this is Aetolia where if you have a different opinion of the "click" then you are beaten to submission or till you stop responding and go silent. So congrats? you have caused another member of the community to go silent.

@Nipsy your post sounds like a threat, where I should remind you that this is all OOC and cannot be taken ICly.

As for my comment about using the guild class or classes only, was geared towards the combat teachings. I would think the guild that holds the class or classes would focus combat on their teachings before other classes. Presently there is limited scrolls on any class within the guild, other than what I have written a while ago for references for novices and others.

I believe you all know how many classes I have, as I enjoy collecting them, thats my thing in this game, collecting stuff. I would like to venture into using the classes more in PVP, and was very much looking forward to some help in that from the guild.
