Kinda makes me nostalgic for the early ones. Getting something stupid like 3rd place for killing butterflies and camping gnat swarms in the HG for 4 days as a level 80 with no arties....ah, memories.

...Fun memories, but that really kinda sucked, please let us never go back to that. :P

He totally is (moderator AND a ginger), and he's a damned boyishly-charming and handsome one at that.

That quote, from two pages ago, was in reference to the lesser/PK/autocuring discussion that had cropped up amongst a healthy smattering of RAGEs. This Great Hunt stuff popped up afterwards. There's always raging in response to Great Hunts, and (this new globe snag notwithstanding) it's usually the same RAGEs as the last time, and the time before, and the time before. I imagine @Daskalos, @Moirean and @Alexina probably have pre-written arguments on Notepad files that they saved from the last few "you're too artifacted to compete it's not fair you guys aaaaaaaaalways win" discussions.

Personally, I don't pop in and tell people to move along unless it's an interesting topic deserving of its own discussion, people are speaking in circles and not saying anything new, or if people are getting particularly snarky and personal at each other. None of those have really happened yet, so it's still a valid discussion.

...but yeah, it's a valid discussion that's getting a bit old. This isn't a MOVE ALONG, it's more of a WRAP IT UP, LAST CALL FOR DRINKS.

Right on the back of telling Haven to buck up and keep copies of his system, Mudlet arbitrarily wiped my settings overnight and my only backup is from April last year.

It may surprise you lot to hear that a system is useful in the Pools, but I put a lot of time into my building and mapping aliases and MXP menus.

I get paranoid about my settings vanishing, so I have a ton of manually made backups, all named a variety of increasingly colorful things, based on how irked I have become with the code I'm working on. I installed a plugin that autobacks up all my files in my world folder daily. And as a backup to a backup, I've started taking up emailing my system to myself. ;_; so much work but I don't want a repeat. Thankfully, I've my system on these forums too so I at least have the defensive portion tucked neatly away.

Putting my system on Github would probably constitute a breach of NDA. I keep my backups in Dropbox indexed by date, but it's been awhile since I felt it necessary to store one. Oh well, I now have a project for the weekend.

@Maghak .. look for - C:\Users\(name)\.config\mudlet\profiles -

The name being the 'name' of your Windows profile.. That should bring up folders and find the folder which your mudlet profile login eg Admin Aetolia .. Then when you found that the folder in that called 'current' should have dated backups ..

I turned off firstaid so it'd let me sleep (because it wakes me up otherwise) and decided to browse the forums while waiting. I came back just as I was about to die and didn't have the reactions to turn it on quickly enough again. I felt annoyed because I've never talked to him. There's literally never ever been any interaction between our characters, before or after he killed me. I get that vampires are supposed to be evil and all, but that doesn't mean it's not frustrating when people kill you completely out of the blue.

Rage that a certain someone has decided to make themselves the Great Hunt police and follow me around icewalling exits and stuff to stop my "obvious cheating." Apparently, the only way someone can get high points is through some sort of cheat, and so now I'm being harassed to "keep things fair."

Certain people that are harassing players with threats of violence and bad treatment for knowing other players or speaking with them. Sometimes I wonder why they are allowed to get away with such toxic behavior.
