It's been exactly 3 months since I have returned to Aetolia (I was dormant for two years due to work and playing other games) and I thought I would add a little bright spark to the forums.
Aetolia, as a whole, has grown into a positive community and both sides have made it easier to stay around. I enjoy seeing prominent leaders of shadow and spirit sharing their perspectives, humour, and wisdom on the forums, in game, and, yes, even sometimes in discord (EVEN THOUGH YOU ALL SHOULD USE THE FORUMS MORE..) . There is definitely an atmosphere of 'let us help you learn you how to play' instead of 'get the unicorns out'. I hope to see this atmosphere continuously expand and while it can be exhausting, I'd like to remind those leaders and the helpers that we -do- notice and are thankful/inspired by it all.
In 3 months, I went from a skeptical player from the dead to actually achieving end game and participating in combat (I'll put participation in quotation marks for obvious reasons haha). I'd really like to thank Karhast, Benedicto, Tenshyo, and Stine for their help in the beginning of learning luminary/combat again... Also I'd like to thank Toz, Xenia, Akimoto/Gala, and Vyxsis for helping me to understand some of the code behind the systems I'm using. Thank you for putting up with my questions and requests.
Finally, I like to remind people that while there can be salt and complaining on either side, that we should not let that dampen the learning environment and instead balance it out with a 'how can we avoid or mitigate' these issues. Everyone has bad days or moods and even valid complaints, but you just have to look at these forums to see we are still people (some went through cancer, divorce, depression, death of a beloved, etc). Continue to treat each other better and we can have a game that people love returning to play.
Thanks again.

23:30:28 You have emoted: Zarni lets out a laugh, and kneels down on the ground in front of you, and after a moment of rummaging around pulls forth a sturdy noose. "Eydis Ilstrem, will you do me the privilege of marrying me? ...Also sorry, this is literally the only ring-shaped thing I own right now."
23:32:09 Eydis holds a hand up to stifle a laugh and gives a nod. “This is really stupid idea but...yes, yes I will."
23:32:53 You say, "Great!"
You get down on one knee and, while holding forth a sturdy noose, you declare your eternal love for Eydis, and ask her to join you in the Rites of Unity.
Eydis accepts lol
(Spinesreach): Xiuhcoatl says, "Oh man, grab the children-corn. This is gonna be good."
This might not seem like a love at first, but bear with me.
Lost my job today. I say lost it, I didn't lose it, I was verbally abused by the Director of the business I sub-contract to as a freelance entertainer. Fortunately I recorded the whole thing on my phone. Still it wasn't nice to hear things like;
"I can't stand you." "Nobody likes you." "Everybody hates you." "You've been nothing but a detriment."
He rounded it all off by telling me to "f*** off". The exchange cost me over £10,000 in jobs that I'd had booked through that company.
As the day unfolded and I notified people that I would no longer be working for said company, I've actually recouped my losses from couples cancelling with the company and rebooking with me privately. Not a single person who knows the company or myself has supported that Directors actions and the recording I took has spread like wildfire throughout the industry whilst I received an outpouring of support and offers of help. The only person who has come out worse off is the Director himself and his company.
Moving! It should be done more often, really. It's a cleansing thing.
I have thrown away a trailer full of junk, and then some. Huge relief to gerrid of stuff that is piling up.
I am treating myself to new furniture, new plates, cutlery, pillows, duvets, lamps, and still opting for as minimalistic as possible. I want this place nice and clean. Always good with a fresh start.
The mighty Jy'Barrak Golgotha opens his maw, catches the glowing spear in his many jagged teeth, and chomps down. The Divine spear breaks with a noise like thunder, shards toppling from the Emperor's jaws. "OM NOM NOM!" He declares, then spits the last of the ruined weapon from his lips.
Indoran'i is back baby. It's good again. Awoouu (wolf Howl)

(Tells): From afar, Mephistoles hisses harshly to you, "Hey baby, show me your ovipositor?"

Golgotha is now voiced by Takahata101 in my head thanks to this. Change my mind.
@Stine and @Lexen - thank you for breaking up what was proving to be another monotonous night of rifting with some hilarious RP. Much to you both. And to everyone else involved that went along with your craziness.
big shouts-out to @Iesid - it's always nice to get a chance to flex the ol' emote muscles with a fellow RP powerhouse

I'm really glad people had fun. I was worried the fake rift calls would get a few people bent out of shape, and we didn't want to drag things out too long. I was really surprised at the number of people that were involved, all told. I think we had a good 20 people at one point.

We were really confused at first and thought Stine was just broken. Though watching Lexen pummel the air and Stine killing a grasshopper "warlock" - then declaring the rift as closed... had me laughing so hard! Was really great.
In the very near future, my art will be hanging in an art gallery! I am super stoked and it has made me even more eager to keep producing paintings. SO HAPPY!!

Hi.
For making an otherwise boring night of rift-mania much more interesting.
