I really hate my job and wish I could switch to something I actually like. I like the majority of the people I currently work with and there are some customers who I don't want to strangle, but I hate it and wish I could quit.
Not so much a "MAD" as an "aww, bummer!" A week before I'm supposed to close on my new home: mortgage company finds out the home is unwarrantable due to previously-undeclared HOA delinquency.
I actually really LOVE the hunting part of the house hunting... So I am actually not as bummed out about this as I could be. This means I get to look at more homes!

What does that mean??

HOA is a fancy term for neighborhoods to say 'We are the kings and you are a peasant. You will follow our rule and pay us money to be part of our neighborhood. Praise be to the kings!!'
(Oasis): Benedicto says, "There was like 0.5 seconds between "Oh hey, they're in area. That was quick." and "OMFG THEY'RE IN THE AREA STAHP STAHP!""

LOL, well with houses HOAs are that way, yeah. I was looking at was a condo, which means I only actually own the inside of the walls of my unit, and the HOA is responsible for keeping up the exterior of the residences, as well as the common areas (road, roof, community building, parking areas, etc.) In order for a condo to be finance-able, the HOA has to be in good standing so if, for example, it is time to replace the roof, they can actually afford it.
The issue is that this HOA has $80,000 in deliquencies from HOA members: so it doesn't have as much money as it needs to have, and can't afford the maintenance that will eventually be needed.

Sounds like they need to tell some folks to get to steppin'!

Personally, I could never live in an area that had HOA. I refuse to pay fees just to live in a neighborhood that I want to live in. I get that there is some upside to HOA... but the downside is just way too much for my taste. I have no idea how some people do it.

Is there ever a day where my neighbors on my right aren't blasting music at 2 am and my neighbors on the left aren't getting raided by cops for the 20th time this year.

I wait till you are away for the weekend and then I turn my music down and hit the sack early. you neighbor
@Hadrak When I was still in firefighter academy, I lived in an apartment where my neighbors got raided regularly as well, but this one time by a swat team. I had been at academy all day, and then got drunk and played COD zombies til I passed out in a drunken heap. So when they threw the flash grenade through their window in the paper thin walled kitchen that was right along my bedroom, I woke up first thinking it was zombies, then nazi's, then terrorists, and that I was going to die.
I feel your pain. Have to love having drug dealers for neighbors.
The clincher to all of this was about two (might have been three) summers ago one of his friends OD'd in the backyard. Rather than face the EMTs and police, he hid behind some trash cans next to his garage. What a guy!
Today, my cat passed away. I wasn't at home, and no one called to tell me, and went ahead and buried him without me. I wasn't there during the final moments, and I didn't get to say goodbye. I should have been.
I've had this cat for fourteen years, going on fifteen now.. Alex was my best friend. There is no love like the unconditional love of a pet, though more accurately he was like his own little person. Knowing I'll go home and my big, lovable and loudly demanding black cat will never be there again, when he was such a big fixture in my life, breaks my heart.
I knew a long time ago our time together was short and that losing him and Becky (who I also lost several months ago and had for just as long) would be hard. I didn't know to what extent, or how part of me would go with them.
I'm so sorry Nola. I know that pain all too well. Many <3s for you. <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
Pets are family and life would be terribly lonely without them. They are parts of our lives, and yet we are their whole lives, and knowing we give them good homes and care and love, doesn't soften the blow of when they go.
I hope you find another good companion down the road, when you're ready. There's so many critters that need rescuing (and end up rescuing us in turn!).
So the lady put the axe to smoking inside which is cool, I totally agree with her. I'm playing some battlefield and am dying for a smoke so I point my mac book at the TV and take my tablet outside and facetime my mac book so I can finish the round outside while I'm smoking and she starts bitching at me about it! Does ANYTHING please a woman?!

You're my god damn hero dude.

Being sick. Ugh. I've had a fever for over a week now, but that's all it was til day before yesterday. Now it's developed into a vicious headcold, issues breathing, a sore throat and a bladder infection.
If it's any consolation, my mother had a cold when pregnant with me. Apparently at one point she was coughing and I kicked and she got to go through labor with a broken rib.
Then I get jipped on my vacation pay for the first week I had off for spring break. It wasn't even enough to cover the bills that came in that week a few days after. The office was notified.
Then my mom's best friend dies in a house fire by suffocation from the smoke. We just had the funeral today. Terribly, terribly sad.
Then I find out that my second week of vacation pay (since it's Thursday to Thursday, so it was broken up across two pay checks) was also missing, leaving me with a grand income of 33$..

Which, I mean. Hey, whatever. But half the time I come home there's another fucking car in my parking spot.

I'm very lucky now that I got my stitches out. He's settled down low, so I can breath. However, coughing will not apparently let up.
My poor parents.
9 specialist appointments.
5 days.
Lesson learned. NEVER AGAIN.
