Great Hunt: A Change & New Ironman Mode!
Hi folks!
With the Great Hunt coming up on Friday, I'm pleased to announce the introduction of a new tier for the competition: IRONMAN.
Before I get into the details of Ironman Mode, I also have the following change to announce:
- Killing a denizen will award 0 points while in an ascended level 200 form during a Great Hunt, regardless of Ironman setting.
Onwards!
Ironman mode is a new character state that can be toggled on and off at any time (provided not recently aggressive), though its relevance will be most notable in Great Hunts where it has its own tier of scoring, rules, and prizes.
While in this mode:
- All artifacts and relics are disabled.
- Buffs to the following that do not come from sources readily obtainable in-game (e.g promo items) are disabled:
- Stats
- Celerity
- Damage resist
- Damage dealt
- Crits
- Regens
- Balance recovery
- Sip amounts
- Things that are disabled include:
- chocolates
- ylem amulets
- milestone wares stats bonus
- blessings (including things like movement grace)
- compendium
- leystones
- bull's eyes
- phoenix hearts
- Elindes leaves
- Things like class defences and such are not affected.
As an Ironman participant during Great Hunts only:
- All skills are set to transcendent
- Crit chance is normalised to level 100 amounts in calculations
- Health/mana/endurance/willpower are standardised to level 100 amounts
- Enhancements are disabled
- Purchased raceskills are disabled
- Points are scored in their own "Ironman" tier for the competition
Syntax: IRONMAN ON/OFF to toggle this on or off. Changing this setting in either direction during a Great Hunt will reset your score to zero.
While this can be used outside of a Great Hunt, it cannot be used if you have recently been aggressive.
As a final note, the spirit of this game mode is to provide a bit of a different challenge during Great Hunts. Taking advantage of things that circumvent the rules outlined above will result in disqualification. Feel free to practice with it beforehand - if you find anything that bypasses the restrictions and you aren't sure about it - file a bug and/or ask.
