Promotions, Chocolates, Fireworks, and the 200 grind.
I'm aware this post is likely going to be controversial off the bat cause IRE needs monies, but I'm doin it anyway.
So we all know the trek to 200 is nightmarish. There are few bold enough dream about it and even fewer to actually do it. With even just one person grinding to 200, it can devastate bashing areas unless you have a full knife set (artifacts with extremely limited accessibility) and even this only mitigates it so much.
For the past couple of weeks or so I've been finding it difficult to hunt, as there are 3 people shooting for 200 either intentionally, or unintentionally right now. Other filthy casuals be damned, the 3 of them clear areas hard enough. And there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately as it stands there is very much so a first come, first serve situation going on with these desirable areas to hunt. Unfortunately this is going to continue to be the case with no end in sight as long as someone is trying for it, and especially because of the amount of time it takes to get there.
This brings me to my next gripe - promo items. In particular, you get a bunch of chocolates (that decay) and fireworks ( that also decay) to help make this already ungodly tough slog that much more bearable. It's completely illogical to use up these chocolates when you know you'll barely get any value out of them when you have to compete with bigtime bashers. The only way to offset this is by mesh bags, which are again, an artifact with extremely limited availability.
With this promotion in particular, you end up with a LOT of chocolates. But that also makes me feel like people are spending a lot of real $$$ just for...a bunch of chocolate that's gonna decay?
I think the 2 simple solutions to this issue are the following:
1. Either make revert chocolates to not decay(lol) or remove the mesh bags from a relic and make them a readily accessible artifact you can buy.
2. All 90+ areas should be instanced. Period.
I wouldn't mind if there existed a non-instanced version of these places still with like higher gold/exp drops, but as it stands right now, you can barely get any real bang for your buck on what comes in these promo items.
In conclusion, promos that give out tons of chocolates, fireworks, and or other bashing-related things look like a giant scam and will continue to be until things change.

I feel like getting too abstract is probably not a good idea when the classes are invariably going to be compared to their opposing mirror, but that's just me.

Do you think Erode came into existence solely from that Aegis classlead? It existed to strip Lyre before. There's no reason it shouldn't strip aegis, and now it does. Force strips it too. Now we both have a reliable aegis strip. You have Force, we have Erode. Ignoring the fact that Force can do lots of other things, it's fine. We also both have stuff that goes through aegis!

It impacts roughly 50 players. From my count, there are roughly five or six making a huge deal of it. Again, no matter what way he goes, he will catch flak. They told you it was put to a vote. Your argument was it wasn't a big enough majority so the vote shouldn't matter, if I recall the log correctly. That isn't how votes work. Not in IRE. A simple majority is what it's based off of. Literally no matter what is decided, he cannot win. Either the dominion will complain about favorites, or the others will. Do I agree with the concept that the dominion should have an automatic seat? No. Is the roleplay excuse flawed? Yes. Is it worth getting this worked up over? Hell no. I've heard a lot of people complain about a lack of story driven rp these days. Hell I am one of them. But we know the aetolian pools is not that expansive. And every day they are having to deal bill crap issues. Complaints of perceived sleights. In this case one actually had to step in and mediate. This is a minor problem they can put on the back burner for something that, let's be honest, about 15-20 people are truly effected by. If that many. I'd rather see a focus on something that progresses the game. I get your frustration, I do. I'm not trying to downplay it. We have all had issues with the game that has raised our blood pressure. Anyways, I'm rambling, unable to stick to a single point. Just try and give them a break. Remember, they are human too. They get stressed as well. Get overwhelmed. And the excuse that 'it's their job' is spoiled bull crap.

I get what you are saying but you also have to look at the trend. The man has caught so much poop over the years no matter what decision he makes. He's caught a lot from this specific topic for what seems like ages now. And, to be forthright, he just got done catching some from me and other players over the most recent event. The simple fact is they are under no obligation to communicate what goes on behind the scenes to their consumers. Very few companies do. MMOs give patch updates, and they tell their consumers plans for future content only after it's already well on its way to be delivered. Ford isn't telling the average driver what comes next. We have been somewhat spoiled by the fact that IRE tries to be open with us and let us know when our grievances are being handled but, again, that is the exception to the rule.

This is a reasonable concern to raise, and I apologize for not giving a clearer timeframe when I closed the first thread. Although the Bloodloch Situation is important, it's not one of our immediate priorities. We agree that there's a need to consider it, and we have plans to do so in the first quarter of 2021, once holiday madness has slowed down a little bit and we have breathing room.
This doesn't mean we'll be sitting down prepared to hash it out on the midnight of January 1st. We're a limited team with limited resources, and we have priorities we've set for December that might spill over into 2021. If you don't hear from us by February, it might be worth making another topic on the subject.
Until then, I'm closing this one, and referring everyone else curious about the Bloodloch Situation and the discourse to the original thread that @Tetchta has linked.
