Public reminder that the Sentinels have literally had a queue of people waiting to get in as envoy slots generate or become vacant.I actually found this out today ICly.
This system is lame.

Plz nuke envoy system, it doesn't really do much except prevent people from pursuing the RP they want to.

I will also jump on the wagon adding that I can never get more than 6 or 7 hours on a chalice. So a two sip chalice would be most appealing, even if we take somewhat less XP, maybe 75 instead of 100 %. I have also been considering why admin is hesitant to do this and I am wondering if it is not to be fair to all whom have bought chalices and had to deal with this. But at a reduce XP I think it would be fair. Qeddwyn is getting rich, bastard. LOL

Please do not make this a weird math problem with diminishing returns. Either leave them as is or let us split them, this would be awful lol

This ties into some discussions that were had on the Official Server regarding my other thread, and more or less echoes @Iazamat's sentiments, but I feel like it can't be emphasized enough: these mechanical constraints limit organic RP, and if you're concerned that unshackeling people from the guns that are held to their that are keeping them in orgs is going to result in a massive exodus of some kind, that is itself an indication of a major, major problem going on in Aetolia. But honestly I think it's an unfounded concern.

I have to agree, there's no reason to compromise here. If deleting the envoy system and allowing people to just be in whatever guild they want uncovers the "issue" of people ejecting themselves from their city-locked guilds to pack into others outside their city, then players and admin alike need to look into why that is and address that issue, not use a bandaid to force people into situations they're unhappy with.

If it has to stick around, maybe a number like 49% of active members can be from a different city?Ultimately, you get screwed as a smaller guild with any limitation because you will always end up capped by people who just don't log in that much. You -may- get lucky, briefly, if they stop for a while..but then you end up overcapped and it's worse. This is where I am right now - we were at 3/2 envoys for a while, though luckily just hit 3/3 because we're a bit more active. Two of those are pretty much inactive, though, but it wouldn't feel right to just boot them.

Why keep it? I think the thing is with these systems that are unpopular, like, nobody really makes a great case for keeping these things. If they're not enriching our play experience, roleplay, or anything else? Why not just chuck 'em? Why do we keep 'em? What's the point in compromising for a crappier version of it? Does requiring 51% of active members to be in the parent city actually make anybody's in-game experience better?
