Yesterday, in one fell swoop, we resolved a terribly clogged sink (we had to take it apart), the bushes in my front yard are no longer eating my house, my grass is now a proper lawn and not a jungle, my downstairs has been power-cleaned, and we own a fan to replace all the ones my roomie took when he moved out.

Next week I'll have a proper garden and patio furniture so I can -enjoy- the fenced backyard I possess. There is something extra delightful about having one man in the kitchen fixing the sink while the other is in the yard running the mower. Very much loving not having two households anymore.

My daughter had her phone stolen. It's been gone like two weeks. I pretty much figured it for lost and was plotting how to aquire her a new one since VZW screwed up adding insurance. (They were told to, didn't, and won't process the claim because of it). I sent a text to the phone explaining that my daughter had to watch her dad die and endure a really crappy year after I lost my job and this is the -first- thing of value she's gotten in awhile, asking them to be a human and return it. Annnnd, I got a text back. Phone is being returned Saturday evening. The dude paid $230 for the phone from a punk kid he knew. My daughter is going to be so very, very happy.

I work at a leather craft store, so I get to see a lot of people who make neat things like leather armor for LARPing, custom bags, and dog collars. I'm also working on drafting a leather case and leather-bound book myself. But today something happened that made me really happy. One of our regulars was buying stuff for making midori notebooks, and I mentioned I'd been looking for a new cell phone charm since my last one broke a few months ago. She also happens to do jewelry in addition to leatherwork, and she offered to bring in a few import and sterling silver charms for me to pick from at no charge. A while back, another one of our customers made me a cute little keychain. Working around crafters is awesome.
