This is sort of Aetolian and OOC rage, but it really annoys me when people act like the artifacts that I have on Daskalos were some cosmic gift from somewhere. Being told 'well, I don't have an unlimited credits like you do, so you sholdn't do XYZ' really gets under my skin. I don't have unlimited credits, and I worked hard to make the money that has bought them. IRE has always been based on a money vs time system, whereas one can buy credits either through OOC time invested, or through IG time invested. One is definately quicker than the other, but I still worked for what I have, and anyone that knows me, knows I've given away a -lot- of credits, especially ones earned in game. People dogged me for joining the great hunt, yet those credits earned were split between three people and I didn't use a single one for me. I gave away every unbound credit I have today to someone else. Why am I suddenly a bad person because I chose to spend money on the game?
@daskalos I feel ya man. I work 10 day travel shifts anywhere from 10-16+ hours a day. I buy artifacts because on the small amount of time I have each night on the road I just want to play Jensen the way I want. I don't have the time or desire to be good enough at coding to take him to a comfortable pk level. I know I won't ever be a top tier fighter that way but I really just want to enjoy playing Jensen
Also December is my first solid (ish) month home since August!!!
I know I made a comment in re the great hunt when I saw you shoot up, but I wasn't intending any sort of ribbing.
I -do- feel that getting a top spot in the face of massive machines is a bit of an exercise in futility sometimes, but that has very little to do with a monetary investment and more to do with a learned skill - even if I'd invested the same coin into Aetolia as Alexina, she'd still trounce my behind in a bashfest, and it's because she's very good at that aspect of the game.
I owe a lot of Daingean's combat ability to Daskalos, in a roundabout way - logs you post serve as one of my favorite 'how to' manuals for luminary combat. I, at least, -like- that you - and many others - spend the cash they do on Aetolia. I certainly couldn't do it, and -someone- has to pay for this glorious hobby of ours to keep on keepin' on. Not that I'm saying the little folk - myself among them - don't contribute, but it certainly can't -hurt- to have a few high rollers around.
My rage: concoctions harvest caps. Seriously. Reanimation -never- had a cap, did it? It's hard to keep up two shops and a personal cache!

Would be a little silly if Reanimation had a cap on it, I think... All these corpses on my inventory? Woops nevermind I suddenly can't pull them to pieces, damn.
'least from an RP standpoint, the concoctions thing makes sense... Not wanting to overharvest, at risk of destroying the plants and preventing further harvesting. *shrug* Just my opinion.
@Daskalos: I feel like there's maybe a certain amount of jealousy that goes into statements like that, because they usually come from people with little to no investment in the game, or that have not found ways to earn credits in game. But you have to admit that the idea of competing against someone who is even moderately equipped with artifacts can be daunting at times for people without access to any.
@Daingean: No, reanimation has never had a cap and it's pretty universally agreed that the cap on harvesting makes it much harder on concoctions users to gather plants than it is to gather the equivalent slices. Except bladder. Because how does one mine for fish.

That made sense, in the old days, when overharvesting was actually possible. Now, it's not. And I can get 5k of a plant. I am not going to worry about environmental effects if I'm just as comfortable stripharvesting the irid moss at five thousand a run.
Besides, this isn't an rp cap - like old forestals would enforce via forest enemying, when overharvesting -was- a mechanical possibility. This is a mechanical cap that makes no sense when it's not equalized - your point regarding corpses is accurate, but I would counter with the fact that there are many, many, many plants I'm -not- harvesting that I still can't touch - maybe if it was five thousand a plant, I'd be okay with it being 'environmentally conscious harvesting practices!' but it's not. It's just 'oh, out of moss in my shop again. Guess I'll harvest that, and ignore the fact that I'm also out of bloodroot, goldenseal, slipper and kelp.'
It grinds my gears.

@Daingean I've actually been prompting people to submit reports to make Concoctions better and more on par with Reanimation this liaison round. Take a look at the reports and perhaps submit your own!
Personally I'd rather see a limit imposed on reanimation stuff. The shops are so completely flooded full with slices that people have started to dump thousands into community chests or hand them out for free, so it's basically killed any sort of profit you might get from slices.
That being said, I doubt it'll happen, so I made a report to up harvesting amounts.
If the mercantile system can get out faster and thus make people really pick between Venom, Cures, Enchantments, and Forging like it was designed to do, then over time these extra slices and what not will go away. However since each one of those classes that have these skills need to have a revamp this puts it coming in 5 years or more at this point.

Eh, I really doubt it's that. It's more the fact that there's no limit at all so each person who can dissect can produce essentially an infinite amount, based on the time they want to invest.
^ As Praenomen I would dissect hundreds of corpses after doing my bashing runs to get to Endgame, I would never have room in my cache so I filled three shop caches and also gave them away and still had some left over.
I always found it silly, because I really never tried, and I had a scalpel so from each corpse I could get a hundred or so slices.
Ugh a rage: I thought I'd go do some fracture bashing, so I went and picked up the Ivory Bough and headed to the fracture. Erk, the swarm came in. You know what, I'll go kill him! So I got him to red on eval...and the second swarm came into the room. Pretty much instantly dead. I have spirit anchor so the death sequence is quick, so I rush back in to grab the bough and maybe get some sneaky bashing done in the other corner of the fracture.
Oh. Nope. The bough reset because they sped up the timer. Ok, I'll go snag it again from the HG. Oh. Nope. Locked out of going to the HG because they put a re-entry CD in. So between claiming the bough and hit and running the swarm, I just wasted like an entire hour and got...3 mists for my time.
Nerf the swarm(s).

I hate that there are two swarm. When they stack on top of each other, it becomes about impossible to hunt in the fracture.

I think it should be changed where if there is already one swarm in the room, the other cannot only come as close as one room away and never come into the room. Or split the fracture in half and keep both swarms limited to their own half and never crossing over

Is ok. Temporary band-aid fix, delete Luminaries? Sound good? No objections, ok go.

Current Gen Dhuriv. A lot of our more important afflictions are
delivered via special attacks that target limbs. When these attacks are
parried, we get the same message as when they went through. This means there's virtually no way to track those afflictions.
Last gen dhuriv, there was a different message. Plz fix ASAP, as no one can use the class to it's full potential this way, hence why no one's fighting.
If you aren't tracking dodge messages you're still doing it wrong. If your first attack gets dodged and the second one lands and you don't track dodge messages then you're going to incorrectly assume it was the first venom that went on when really it was the second.
In-line envenoming and combat messages should help alleviate this though.
