PK Rules, Issues, Et al.

Hi folks,

Given the volume of messages and issues surrounding these topics lately, I'm here to clarify / provide reminders about some things regarding PK rules and issues as a whole.

1. Issues are a tool for administrative redress when all other avenues of resolution have failed you. They are not a weapon for you to wield in order to get your way with other players. Outside of very extreme edge cases, it is never appropriate to threaten someone with an issue and doing so will almost always guarantee that your issue is summarily dismissed. This goes the other way, too: if you're unable to elucidate your RP reasoning and instead resort to telling people they can "issue if you don't like it" - you're likely going to lose any issues that come up from it.

2. It is not appropriate to seek revenge for deaths in the Shattered Vortex, the Iernian Fracture, or any open PK zone. That said, nor does killing/dying to someone in these areas nullify existing cause outside of them.

3. Raising shrines in and of itself is not sufficient grounds for PK, unless the shrine is being raised in an area that has some significance to you/your organisations. There needs to be more context than simply raising a shrine. Even if your character has a beef with the God in question - start a Holy War or defile the shrines instead.

4. Cities, guilds, and orders can enemy someone for any reason they like - or no reason at all. This is a cornerstone of player run organisations and not something we feel needs policing.

5. If your reason for attacking someone is because of a bounty on their head, it is on you to ensure that you are registered for the bounty, and that it hasn't already been reclassified as expired because of a kill that's already happened. Messages are sent when bounties expire in this fashion, so there are no excuses.

6. I've noticed an alarming trend lately all across the game where people jump into fights not their own, kill someone in a team, and then call a team for help when the individual they helped kill seeks recourse. If you have done something to give someone cause on you, that is your responsibility to resolve. Anyone who is jumping in to defend you in a fight that you brought upon yourself is subject to retaliation themselves either through a bounty or personal PK. If you don't want to deal with these consequences, I strongly advise against involving yourself in other people's conflicts.

What if the shrine being raised was occupying a spot that had just hosted the other "team" (for lack of a better term) shrine? E.g. 1 person defiles a Haern shrine, and a 2nd person starts raising one in its place. Within like, a reasonable timespan, obviously.

Would that fall under "has some significance to you/your organisations"?
