I think Tom Daley is absolutely adorable, it took alot of courage for him to come out so publicly, I think being famous makes it difficult to share alot of your personal life when so much of it is already under the microscope. I am not entirely surprised on this one, but I think its great that we live in a time where people can be so open about themselves.
I spent some time in Mongolia, so I kinda love Mongolian music.
First, my favorite Mongolian band, Altan Urag. There's something so haunting about the horsehair fiddle:
And a song from the Mongol soundtrack (suuuuch a good movie, see it if you haven't!). This whole soundtrack is amazing. That somewhat buzzing noise? That's called throat singing and it's coming out of a person. It's kinda how I imagine Horkval would sound if they sang, hehe.
The horsehair fiddle is this 2-string instrument, kinda like a fretless guitar with a box for a base, and it's really conducive to making these galloping, rhythmic sounds when played, akin to a horse's hoofbeats. This song from Khadak (a truly stunning movie, but it's quite bleak, about the struggle of the nomadic lifestyle in a country embracing modernity).
And some Huun Huur Tu, a Tuvan band (a part of Siberia on the Mongolian border). They do a lot of really traditional stuff with interesting twists, like incorporating in drums used in Shamanic ceremonies or collaborating with Frank Zappa.
So the entire stuff and thangs meme was pointed out to me the other day in a 4chan thread by a few friends. And then I found this video and I ROST IT. (please forever me ezalor)

This is my favorite song ever, come Christmas time. Always makes me want to cry.
"The smell of dusty fur, sweet smoke, waiting and patience, a thing that time cannot kill. The moth that candles won't burn."
