Subj: Christmas Event Schedule

Christmas season is upon us, and as always Aetolia has plenty of events
and prizes waiting for you! Here is our schedule we have planned:

Thursday 20th
-------------
Ironbeard returns until the end of the year!

Starfall (NO PK, NO SHARING)
02:00GMT
400/200/100 credits to the first, second and third placings.
10 credits to anyone who collects at least 10 meteors.

Friday 21st
-----------
City vs City Free-For-All.
0:00GMT (Howling)
Winning city will get the Ulgar Atlas, until the next time we hold an
event for the prize. Everybody gets 10 credits for participating!

Freezetag
21:00GMT
200/100/50 credits to the first, second and third placings.
10 credits just for participating in the event!

Saturday 22nd
-------------
Survivor
01:00GMT
200/100/50 credits to the first, second and third placings.
Once again, 10 credits simply for joining the event!

Treasure hunt
22:00GMT
Slightly different from our usual treasure hunts. This time around,
it'll be Cryptic Chests buried across the continent for you to find.

Sunday 23rd
-----------
Bait-The-Frog
02:00GMT
200/100/50 credits to the first, second and third placings.
And again, 10 credits simply for being frog food.

Knockout free-for-all.
21:00GMT
A Free-For-All featuring a brand new arena mod! This arena mod forces
the participants of the event into a forced 1v1 knockout tournament. You
will be randomized a partner from the other participants and will be
unable to attack anybody except that person. The winner moves on to
fight another winner, and the loser leaves the arena, until only one
person remains! If the individual fights drag on, we may have to drop
AOE effects in the room to try and hurry things along.

The winner of the finals will get 400, the loser of the finals will get
200 credits, and the losers of the quarterfinals will get 100 credits
each. Everybody else will get 10 credits.

Monday 24th
-----------
Starfall (PK ON, Dying gives half your points to killer)
400/200/100 credits to the first, second and third placings.
10 credits to anyone who collects at least 10 meteors.

Tuesday 25th
------------
Spend time with your families! Nothing running on this day.

Wednesday 26th
--------------
City vs City Champions Free-For-All
23:00GMT
Each city will put forth one champion to represent them in the
Free-For-all. Teaming is allowed! Winning city will get the Epicurus
statue until we next run an event for it, the winning champion will nab
100 credits for themself.

Thursday 27th
-------------
Quiz
22:00GMT
A Quiz on Aetolia's history and lore! Refer to HELP QUIZ.
400/200/100 credits to the first, second and third placings.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Haernos, in the year 377 MA.

    Pretty awesome.

I hope there's some spirit of good cheer goin' around, and we don't see too many people trying to hog the first place credits all the time.

Edit: By which I obviously mean the same person, repeatedly.

You know though, you can get 70 credits just for taking part in all the events throughout the course of the them, plus IB will be running around. Even if it was the same person getting first all the time, 70 credits is quite a decent amount (especially for free), I know I certainly wouldn't complain.

Feelings, sensations that you thought were dead. No squealin' remember, that it's all in your head.

  • I am looking forward to the city free for all. I can see the shouts and smack talking now. Wonder who each city will be picking?

  • The only thing I feel the need to complain just a tiny bit about is the time of the events. I have found three events that I don't want to miss for anything;

The starfall on the 20th, which for me starts at 4am. The treasure hunt on the 22nd, starting at midnight. The quiz on the 27th, starting at midnight as well.

It's also impossible for me to switch to the second starfall, since that's on Christmas eve, when we here in Sweden celebrate our xmas.

However, being unemployed, I can torture myself and stay up all night if needed for the three events I really want to participate in. And I am REALLY not complaining, cause it's AWESOME that we finally get a treasure hunt again and I love me some starfall!

I just want to point out that all the admins except Raz are volunteers and they're giving up their festive season to come and run events in your pretendy funtime game.

    No complaining allowed, I think.

  • I wasn't complaining, I promise! Don't hate me. :(

Seriously though, I am über excited about this, even if it means pulling an allnighter here or there.

  • I'm having a little difficulty converting the timezones. In Eastern Standard (USA) what are these dates/times? (I thought dealing w/ four time zones at work would help, but I can't figure out where I am in relation...)

These times are helpful, but the date of 'Thursday' was really 'Wednesday' and so on... Alas, no Starfall for me. At least I was at work, so I can't be TOO mad... just really looking forward to it this evening!

    They're based on GMT.

Well, the *day* is GMT, but the time is EST. I can see the confusion.

  • Yeah, sorry was kind of drunk, but EVENTS now tells you when in your time zone. So ignore me rambling post.
