This pub is round the corner from where I work and is the 4th oldest public house in Britain! As you can see it was built in 1251AD. We Brits have been going to the pub for aaaaaaaaages!
Celebrating the coming of spring here in my town is pretty special. Every year on the last of April we see the following things:
Student orchestras goofing off while playing on the city streets and squares. They have their own little dance group performing in front of them and everything is done for fun more than making it sound fantastic.

And then there's the 3pm concert by the University Male Choir, where former members join in to sing for about an hour. This year they celebrated 40 years of this tradition. One member on stage had been there every year so far.

And then, of course, the motorcycle parade. This year it took only 15 minutes to pass from start to finish. Last year it took longer. Here's a part of it, only 3 minutes of thunder as they pass me by on the sidewalk.
Loved every second of it! One of my favorite cities to visit for sure, but yeah, a group of friends and I have been planning the trip since December/January but would have been cool to toss back a few!
Koh Chang at the moment, but will be heading to Bangkok in the coming days, and thus will find myself without internet for a few days until I get the apartment wifi sorted out. Lol
Sooo like I said I would I don't know how many posts back, here are the pictures of the jewelry I made this semester (and my ring from my first semester a year ago).
The quality of any of these is not great. I took it with my phone camera.. because it was sadly better than my old canon camera that has outlived itself.
Ring from the first semester:
Its sterling silver with a fine silver double bezel set with a rainbow moonstone that is a lot bluer than in this picture.
My sterling silver ring I carved from wax and casted this semester:
This one was a side project I did during our lost wax casting process. Essentially, you carve it out of wax (this one broke a lot because it was very delicate to hold) and then attacked it to a stick of wax on a cone, put it in plaster investment, let it harden, fire it, it burns the wax out and leaves the shape and details behind so then you put it in a spinnny thing and sling the silver into the indention left behind to get your piece.
My sterling silver casted lotus:
This was done with the same process as the ring, and was my main project so I took the most time for this one. Its mah favorite. The hole in the center is where I'm planning on setting a small rainbow moonstone when I get to go back.
My silver casted luna moth (NOT A BUTTERFLY):
Another side project, also using lost wax casting. Those little pieces like the fuzzy antennae and the long parts of the wings? Yeah. Pain in the butter. I'm going to be redoing this one when I get the chance, refine it a bit. I hate that any scratches or imperfections in your wax will show up in your casting.
and lastly my incomplete enamel piece!:
The only thing I have left to do is grind down the surface to where its smooth and the silver wires aren't so pokey. Enamel is basically very fine crushed up glass of different colors, you melt it down on fine silver in the kiln using cloisonne silver wires (fine silver too) to make the shape of your design. I also used gold foil under the enamel of my sun to make it pop more, and silver foil under the moon and sky.
Note: I TRIED to spoiler them, but. Spoiler tags hate me and so I gave up.
Way way past the deadline, but I recently came across a hat that I stole borrowed from a friend's head. I liked it and was sad when I had to give it back.
And here is -my- new tattoo. Half of the money went to the Swedish Child cancer research fund and it's my Charity tattoo in more than one way. It's a symbol formy year of giving. Loved doing it and already miss the feeling. Time to start planning/saving for the next one. <.<
