Fallen and Alchemist previews

Hi everyone! As per Razmael's request, we've decided to preview two of the newly announced, upcoming class releases. Since the individual lore will be explored within their assigned guilds, I'm going to just give a brief explanation of some of the changes to the mechanics in the reflavored classes. Mechanically the classes are nearly identical, with some variations within the same theme to keep the abilities fresh and exciting.

The Fallen class keeps much in spirit with the existing Luminary class, choosing to instead explore the domains of desecration and corruption in their quest to spread truth across the realm. Blasphemy encompasses the use of an eveningstar and shield in conjunction to obliterate foes, alongside the use of a nightmarish nachash, a fallen's angel, to grant them prowess in battle. At their most powerful, a Fallen may use their nachash to bolster their own defenses to incredible heights - protecting against nearly any affliction, while simultaneously dissolving the mortal form surrounding their opponent's soul.

Commune             Sense the strength within your servant.
Eveningstar         Call forth a wicked eveningstar to rend flesh.

Sentinel            Cause your servant to stand watch for your enemies.
Smash               Deal a wicked blow with your morningstar.
Respite             Grant your unworthy servant a brief moment's respite.
Strike              A simple attack with your shield.
Siphon              Draw out the essence of your servant to sate your needs.

Facesmash           Smash your shield into your foe's face.
Dissonance          Disrupt and scatter most harmonics.
Subdue              Deal a mind-numbing blow to an enemy.
Battle              Comamnd your nachash to follow your directives.
Presences           Seek out those in the local area.
Crash               Crash your shield into your foe's head.

  • The skill of Worship is a powerful tool, akin to the strength of Devotion. By granting their faith to an unholy divinity, the Fallen may gather the power of 'belief', used for offensive and defensive purposes alike. They employ the use of liturgies to generate passive effects in their rooms, draining their foes of blood while transferring many of their own maladies to their victims. Some of the greatest feats performed include torturing the angels of the devout until they are driven mad with bloodlust, or creating an omniscient void-eye capable of spotting players on any plane.

Faithful         Discern the truth of your fanaticism.
Darkpact         Draw upon your faith to mend your wounds.
Vaporize         Erase bodies of water from your sight.
Reality          Bring forth your own incarnation of truth.
Liturgies        Perceive the presence of unholy sacraments.
Offering         A dark offering will instill fulfillment.
Fervor           Grant unholy fervor to empower your strikes.
Euphoria         A vision of false divinity to soothe ills.
Transversal      A liturgy that draws a demonic gate to your plane.
Corruption       Fill their soul with impermeable darkness.
    Hellchains       Shackle an angelic entity.
Spite            Infuse their soul with unending wrath.
Terror           The liturgy of terror sends enemies fleeing.
Umbergrasp       Let hands of shadow anchor your being.
Unending         Dispel any notions of hunger.
Hellsight        Grant them a vision of this world's fate.
Glimmer          Draw their mind into a stupefied trance.
Bloodsong        The liturgy of the blood will bleed them dry.
Censor           Release the energies of your liturgy.
Watcher          Gaze upon all with the eye of the void.
    Ignorance        Cast mortal maladies aside.
    Succumb          Overcome their feeble willpower.
Beckoning        Those who trespass answer only to you.
Mending          The liturgy of mending will regenerate wounds.
Rouse            Bring forth the fire within their soul.
Convene          Empower your followers with the spoken word.
Torturer         The liturgy of the torturer banishes spirits.
Resurrect        Reap the rewards of your zeal.
Agony            Shatter their will with endless pain.
Binding          The greatest of liturgies brings inescapable doom.

  • Finally, the skill of Taint draws directly on the realm of Chakrasul to empower the Fallen's tactics. Enchanting their eveningstars with demonic jadefire, the Fallen is capable of drawing on their inner seed of corruption to instill a variety of effects. By drawing out this inner taint, the Fallen may control the ruin around them - corrupting the land itself with their might and dissolving any barrier in their path. The greatest of Fallen may generate corruption in their victim itself, until the seed blossoms and their victim becomes their rightful, lifeless minion.

Nightsight       See in the darkest of nights.
Detection        Check the state of your inner seed of Corruption.
Shadows          Bind shadows to your location and banish the light.

Senseless        Rob your victim of their senses.
Foresight        Spot traps before triggering them.
Savor            Draw pleasure from that which afflicts you.
Contingency      Consume corruption itself in an emergency.
Hatred           Let your wicked presence pour forth.
Undermine        Return the favor when granted pain.
Dismissal        Lesser entities are beneath your presence.
Enervate         Their maladies are beyond comprehension.
Taintwall        Generate a shadowy wall of corruption.

Untouchable      Twist their body into an abomination.
Blossom          Let your corruption burst forth.

  • The Alchemist class shares many of the same concepts as Bloodborn mechanically, while retaining a theme that is distinct and exciting. The skill of Mutation allows the Alchemist to warp various parts of their body, obtaining inhuman strength, agility and mental prowess to overwhelm their foes. With mastery of Mutation, an Alchemist may maintain a half-dozen mutations at once, gaining stats and resistances unparalleled by virtually any other class. Rather than using blood to power their effects, an Alchemist uses the power of science itself - powered by their own research.

Nativity         Return your body to its natural state.
Drain            Draw the lifeblood from your target.
Ravage           Empower your limbs and batter your victim.

Flexibility      Empowering your joints will improve avoidance.
    Fading           Blend into your surroundings.
Fitness          Strengthen your lungs against assault.
Subtlety         Hide the true nature of your mutations.
Dashing          Sprint great distances in a single bound.
Alacrity         Move with unmatched grace and stealth.

Clotting         Command your body to prevent bleeding.

Thickskin        Steel your body against physical harm.

Vanish           Move quicker than mortal vision can spot.
Restore          Bring your shattered limbs to life.
Purge            Remove vile poisons from your body.

  • The skill of Potions allows an Alchemist to directly employ their mastery of chemistry in a variety of ways, by brewing potions containing potent, toxic chemicals. They may then hurl these flasks at their opponent, using the momentum generated from their mutation-driven assault to perform the throws free of balance. At higher ranks, they may even mix effects into a single flask, dose themselves against individual afflictions or simply slay those unable to withstand their academic might.

Chemistry        Lead the way, with science.
Imbibe           Consuming beneficial potions to bolster your body.
Hurl             Sharing your less beneficial potions with others.
Vitan            Attune your vision to life itself.

Temere           Fill their mind with thoughts of heroism.
Allure           A scent that is impossible to resist.
    Venenum          The deadliest concoction.

  • Finally, the skill of Alchemy involves complex calculations and chemical knowledge, combined with planar magics to perform alchemical transmutations. While the individual effects of these methods are best left to the researchers themselves, their effects are known to be potent and widely varied in purpose. Mastery of Alchemy allows the Alchemist to form collaborative research teams, empowering their colleagues to share in their research and reap the benefits. Additionally, they may retain their transmutation methods within a research tome, which itself may be converted into a powerful autonomous minion in battle.

Reagents         Gather and organize your components.
Sample           Draw upon a target with a stray hair.
    Transmute        Perform a transmutation ritual.
