Platypuses are jack-of-all-trades creatures. In a social/team game like this, its better to have specialized roles rather than being a generalist for optimal efficiency. Thus, wereplatypuses would not be OP.
I think it'd be neat if wereraces could fully transform into their animal form. I.e you can be human, werewolf, and wolf, or you can be human, werepanther, and panther, etc. The final form wouldn't even need to have any combat affects. Just neat for the roleplayings.
I actually think the binturong (asian bear cat) would make an excellent werebeast, though 'werebinturong' is too much of a mouthful, as is werebearcat. Wereturong? They're nifty little animals, and they smell like popcorn. I'm all in favor of werebeasts that smell like popcorn.
