A small, personal piece.

BenedictoBenedicto Tentacles Errywhere!
A gap-fenced cliffside overlook.
A thunderstorm rages in the heavens, and rain blasts down all around you. A hooded Kelki fisherman is here, tending to his nets. The shining figure of a guardian angel floats in the air here. A sullen flare of light on the southeastern horizon betrays the presence of the elemental vortex.
You see a single exit leading southwest.

You have emoted: Benedicto stands still and casts his pearl-white gaze out through the driving rain to the violent, grey waves that stretch out as far as the eye can see.

You ask a hooded Kelki fisherman, "How goes it friend?"

You have emoted: Benedicto gives a small shrug as the fisherman goes about his net repair. The water drips from the ends of his loose tentacles, running down his face in small rivulets, though he seems oblivious to the weather, almost as if he is at peace.

Like a waterfall, rain pours down around you, soaking you thoroughly.

You have emoted: "You know, since Mournhold was built, I've often felt an affinity with the place. A pull, if you will. Perhaps it has to do with being amongst other Kelki." Benedicto carries on oblivious and uncaring of whether the fisherman hears him or not. "I love my family, the Silverain. I have a key to the manor in Enorian. But...it is not home. It is my brothers home. His place."

You have emoted: Benedicto looks up as a flash of lightning illuminates the overlook, everything turned momentarily black and white. A clap of thunder follows, the sound begun with an almost deafening *CRACKBOOM* which is then followed by the quieter rumblings as the noise trails off. "I would hardly call it an idyllic locale, the weather is terrible, the town is grim and grey with half of the buildings decrepit ruins. Still..."

You have emoted: Benedicto turns to the hooded Kelki fisherman. "It could be home. It feels like somewhere I could finally build somewhere of my own."

You have emoted: Benedicto redirects his attention back out to tumultuous sea and the dark horizon beyond. "It's been a difficult last few years, I don't mind telling you. I do not expect that things have been fully laid to rest." He gives a short sigh, one large webbed hand rising to wipe the wet from his face in a futile effort. The rain continues to drive down with enough force to raise a continuous hissing as it strikes the bare stone underfoot. "No, I am not so foolish as to believe that." He says more to himself.

You have emoted: "I also do not think that there is such a thing as 'finding peace.'" Benedicto continues, his voice returning to a normal, more conversational level. "There is no such thing as peace in these worlds. There is respite, happiness, love and so on and so forth. But peace...we do not live in a world that allows for it. I am not so naive as to believe that a person can shut the world out and find peace." He flexes his fingers, his arms held loosely at his sides. One hand then the other, back and forth in a slow, steady rhythm. "It's tantamount to hiding. You think you can shut your door, disappear from the world and everything will be fine. But life doesn't allow for you to do that. It finds you, brings the violence and problems into your home. No, there is no such thing as peace."

Benedicto lapses into an embarrassed silence. "I'm sorry my friend, I did not mean to ramble on. Just voicing my thoughts out loud." He says to the hooded Kelki fisherman apologetically.

Clearing his throat awkwardly, you say to a hooded Kelki fisherman, "Well, I shall leave you to your nets. Perhaps we will be seeing more of each other. I have decided that this is where I shall build my home. Pending approval from the Mayor of course."

You have emoted: Benedicto inclines his head by way of farewell and begins to follow the path back down the cliff.
