    If Ironcon doesn't kick off.. I have that weekend off. I asked it off last year and due to work issues, I'm unlikely to get any other weekend off. Just saying. So, I'd have thurs-monday off.

    Darn, was really hoping for a PA/Philly meet to save money. If we're doing a DC meet, hopefully the specifics can be set as early as possible, and be as far away from late March as possible. Also, may need to be on a weekend, and certain Saturdays are no go, as there are several free concerts to attend to.

    I think what we should do is do a weekend in May for the people that can make it (and Slyphe), and then one in July, depending on IronCon.  I'm partial to the weekend after the 15th, 'cause that's -my- birthday.

     

    Also, @Slyphe, is it weird that Ashmer's birthday is in Slyphian, while your birthday and my birthday are in the same month?

    Yeah.. no. There's no goddamn way I can get may off. I had to request IronCon off a year in advance practically and now that we have a girl leaving and I'm training the newbie, I'm DEFINITELY not getting -any- extra time off. Esp not March - May.

    I'm happy that I usually have a minimum of two weeks to ask for certain days off if need be. I was all excited at the possibility of meeting Piper and/or Iosyne for a second there, but guess not. :(

    Psh, @Piper if we're meeting in Philly or DC that's like 1-5 hours of driving for me, I'll happily do both.

    For now though, I'm just digging the idea of having a birthday bash with @Ashmer. @Jensen will have to skip Iceland and head to PA.

    I have been informed that I am being dragged to a family reunion in Rochester, NY for June 11th-18th. I can adjust my plane ticket to come either earlier or later and could probably get a train to somewhere from there (especially if there's a spot I can crash), so if there's a meet right around that time I might be able to drop in.

    Edit: Going to go camp out with Piper for a few days, nevermind!

    If we do something in Philly, I could host 1-2 people without cat allergies and cool with a tripod and tuxedo chasing a jingly ball around at night, if they're cool with couch-crashing/an air mattress (conveniently accessible through Amtrak and a short walk to Suburban Station!).

    Okay so let's do May 17-18 in Philly. I could drive in Friday night, hang out Saturday, go home Sunday afternoon sometime. It's a little over five hour drive for me.

     

    Areka, if you could host me, that would be ballin' and make the trip way more viable for me.

    So we've for sure settled on May 17-18 in Philly? Not even fully sure what we can get up to, for sure Reading Terminal Market, but not sure where else.

    Sure, @Ashmer. 

    There's old city and historic sites, South Street kitcsh hipsterness, some neat things up in Northern Liberties, the Mutter Museum among other museums, there's some good bars.
