Total blackness is contrasted only by the form of a spectral hourglass. The hourglass itself is a spectral white, and it drips golden sand down through its funnel. The sand itself, however, falls not into a pile of more sand, but instead it fades into nothingness. Much of the bottom half of the hourglass, too, drifts off sideways into wispy fragments.
