It means that the letters on the computer screen are actually backwards, so our hacker friend is doubly gifted for being able to hack and read a flipped screen.
I haven't thought this through fully, but I feel like there's a creative solution somewhere involving adjacent rooms, because I'm a big fan of moving away from "everything has to happen in the same room" gameplay. I think a player should be able to …
Original Aalen Bloom event. There were so many people trying to figure out what to do about it, how to respond to it as a cityleader. I remember creating quarantine zones and stages-of-infection guides, we had people setting up research stations in …
It's been kind of a rough 2021 for me, and I definitely took the summer off from the game to take care of myself, but I am very happy to see some very positive and big changes happening around here and that's super exciting.

So in this hypothetical situation, are you saying that because my character has Insight, and because you don't have the "freedom" to use Think (which is, again - one of numerous mechanics you have available with which you can…

I strongly dislike this idea- framing all of this in the context of a defense that protects you is setting up the entire Think/Insight/etc. avenue of RP as an inherently dangerous mechanic that you should protect

I actually completely forgot this was a thing. It would be cool if THINKSECRET rolled on a table that checked against something. That way there's still some risk involved, but it's mitigated - to use Saidenn's example, you're not forcefull…

On the same token, I see it the other way around too - you're not at your home base, you don't have the advantage, and Saidenn is surrounded by powerful telepaths. Keeping with the D&D analogy, Saidenn SHOULD have disadvantage on his d…
No one is forcing you to use THINK. In fact, up until very recently, think was barely a thing that most people even remembered to use! Once the insight/think change went in, the people using it shot up dramatically - likely for one of two reasons:
Loved being a part of it, and getting a chance to interact with some people who normally wouldn't cross paths with Sib, which is always such a treat. (@Elene
A craggy boulder in the valley. The rain pours down beneath the darkness of night, the clouds blotting out the heaven and stars. A faun of the ancient wood lingers in the area, his presence vaguely eerie. The wooden body of a lifeles…
I think that there's been a lot of memey/OOC "support" of a cute little mascot character in Aetolia that's been around for years, but it's grown from a harmless/cutesy thing to something where people are using her as a proxy for their own conflicts …
A game putting themselves firmly in the 18+ category is committing to an entirely different target audience, which I am about 99% certain is a death wish for most games.
Honest question for the players who think they're missing out on or being prevented from roleplaying out darker themes. What is the actual 'this happened' moment that caused this thread? ( in The Midnight Age?Comment by SibattiMay 2021
Can we talk about those slurs in the shadow web tho, or is that part of the "escapism" that no one has to be accountable for them.

I've literally never had a problem RPing any of Sib's avenues - and her avenues have taken things to some very dark places that would absolutely trigger trauma in others.
You can and should be compassionate towards the player b…
I was sorta in a rush and didn't explain well - what I'm mostly getting at is that a great way to avoid all of the pressure of an event is to have them look a lot less like this, most of the time:
Question: Why do events feel so exhausting to put on? Should they be?
If they're this exhausting/difficult to pull off, wouldn't that point to being too much inherent pressure in the event itself, rather than the fact that at the end of …
