I actually withheld a vote till I felt that someone was suspicious. I don't see that as very pushy. I am pointing out inconsistencies in Aryanne's story that make her suspicious. Further, I have been encouraging discussion because that benefits Tow…
@Toz - I can totally see it as a legit strategy for an experienced player. It's implausible, not impossible, and sometimes implausibility is a fantastic shield. At pres…
Piper -has- been awfully quiet. And I don't hear any zoo excuses.
Though I definitely agree with Llok being suspicious. He has been pretty loudly proclaiming his experience with the game. Sometimes the easiest way to hide is to do the th…
I certainly agree with Aryanne. Others spoke up whose words definitely should have been examined more closely. Vharen provided a solid reason for his change of opinion.
Omei is also pretty dang smart, but perhaps a little too quick to la…
@ Moirean - Oh man, I totally understand that initial 'Oh god, these are REAL PEOPLE' moment, because I got my text-game start with text adventure games. The first 'other people' game was a space oriented MUD, where I still was mostly interacting wi…
I have played text games since I was a kid, so I have like..23 years of off an on text gaming under my belt. I started with IRE about 10 years ago at Imperian, but have -always- had an interest in Aetolia. They seem to have a pretty solid RP communi…
I played a drunken card game with my former roommates and both Vharen and I ended up covered with bites and scratch marks. Egyptian Ratscew. Which I was later told is not usually quite so -violent-.

I personally love writing options as advancement opportunities. Guilds -should- be offering thematic options that cater to different play styles for advancement. Social folks can engage socially, writing nerds can write, combat folks can figh…
I don't want to make a whole forum post about it, but I would be TOTALLY in favor of some method of porting character value to new games, even at considerable loss of value (as mentioned in the ustream).
If I go to IronCon next year, I will absolutely be bringing Cards Against Humanity, because I can think of no better crowd to play that with than a bunch of IRE gamers.

What's our record for Dominion? Like..4,1223 me to your 3 wins? And I'm starting to routinely kick your butt at Nethack now that I comprehend the dang rules.
It had moved beyond any useful purpose, Hadoryu. Everyone was clearly rigidly situated in their beliefs. All the useful points on either side had been made, multiple times.
Even though I appear to strongly disagree with some pretty well-known players here, I love that the RP courtesy thread is occurring, and is being discussed with a some level of maturity and thought.

Torture as a mechanic is (generally) less intense than suddenly finding yourself immersed in a detailed and drawn-out torture scene being roleplayed. (Though Moirean pointed out to me that mechanics can be just as problema…
