4 aff reclamation will continue even if locked. Post lock ttk for vampires is fucking abysmal though. Even Phreneses wouldn't be able to kill the shaman after the lock, or even if they rushed straight into feast.

I would almost always go with a one handed weapon and shield. The audit loss, opening yourself up to lethargy/plodding (and epilepsy to an extent) hinders, and slow attrition of blood thirst are not worth the lackluster damage increase.
