I'm a bit concerned because you haven't addressed the balancing nightmare at all. Ultimately Spirit classes are balanced to play along with Spirit classes and the same for Shadow classes, so opening up new combinations will lead to a lot of ridiculo…I loved Chak almost being driven into throwing a tantrum by Ethne and Haern's antics.
