    @Slyphe - I had a dream you turned us into Pirates O.o.
Well then, you're a step ahead of the Order then in being ready for it!

Just kidding, Order is not becoming pirates, but I'm totally okay with anybody who does.

For a confession of my own:

    - The new description I'm rocking (bonus confession: I admittedly wasn't the person who wrote it, major <3 to the person that did and portrayed exactly what I was going for and more), as well as a lot of the RP direction I'm trying to push Slyphe towards has been shamelessly inspired by Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. I absolutely fell in love with the story line and Edward Kenway as a character, and wanted to try and push Slyphe towards more of a gritty, pirate-esque image.
...now that you've mentioned this, it feels kind of uncanny that I have designs for Assassin's Creed hidden blade bracers and Ezio's assassin robes. >_>

    Speaking of, confession time!

    * Yes, I have crafting designs for assassin robes. I've also lifted inspiration for crafting stuff from books, movies, video games, and anime.

    * Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few people who legitimately enjoys crafting, and I get excited whenever there are new things for crafters.

    * I also really enjoy shopkeeping.

    * I keep a list of design ideas in a word file. If I were to complete all of them, I'd probably have over 1000 designs.

    * I wish the shop stockroom expansion artifact granted more slots.

    * I wish crafting artifacts were cheaper so I could buy all of them.

    * After finally getting my hands on a good system and an offense script, I'm finding that I'm legitimately enjoying combat, though only in small doses. I still prefer RPing over PK, though, so when offered a choice between emoting with someone or killing some bitches, I'll usually pick the former.

    * Since I've been working for a leatherwork craft store for the past three months, I actually have a better working knowledge of leatherworking, and have been looking for excuses to use that knowledge in crafting.

    * If I had the complete freedom to make my own area in-game, I'd do it. Of course, I'd have no idea what the heck I'd do about lore. I just like having neat, new places to visit in-game.

I'm the worst. That quiz event last Christmas you had to get just one question out of like thirty right to get credits and I couldn't manage a single one. I think I ended up lucking out in that there was some question about Xaanhal and I managed to answer Krisiina because I saw her name on deathsight all the time.

    One more confession.

It's kind of depressing knowing a large majority of players in the game hates you, and people go out of their way to tell you everyone hates you, and you wonder if it's worth sticking around.

As long as we're admitting costume design plagiarism, Angwe's outfit is a blatant ripoff of Wander's costume from Shadow of the Colossus

    image

    and partially inspired by

    image

Frank Ocean's costume in She by Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. Of course, since his straw hat and kimono are both gone, it's mostly just Wander's outfit.

Edit: Frank Ocean's influence in the costume design is based more off feel than direct imitation. In the video, he has the feel of a silent witness, a foreign interloper more than a direct player in the drama unfolding.

All designs shown written by @Teani:

    [spoiler]
a kawhe tunic of simple cut
Sewn from soft, airy linen dyed a kawhe hue, this tunic hangs loosely around the wearer's upper body, ending at mid-thigh. The neckline is slightly rounded without a collar, and a short split at the front, only about an inch long, marks the center. A border runs along this edge, with a simple vine embroidered with woad-blue thread on the kawhe background, making it almost impossible to discern unless one looks closely. Aside from this, the garmet is unadorned and simple in its cut. Sleeves cover the arms down to just above the elbows, the edges adorned with a similar pattern as the top hem, but this time standing out more as the fabric has toned out into a faded off-white.
It can only be worn in the following location: torso.
It has 16 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 1 pounds and 8 ounce(s).
It has been dyed through the use of a dyekit.
It bears the distinctive mark of Evening Sky, Teani Fiadhaich.

    sturdy, utilitarian short pants
Dyed a faded gray, these short pants are sturdy and utilitarian. Wide enough to accommodate a broad pack of muscle, the legs end just above the knee with a broad cuff of gray color. The sides are fitted with two large pockets just below the hips, openings covered by simple flaps. These are kept in place by bone pieces that run through holes in the fabric. Strange markings cover the bones, a pattern of glyphs that can be found along the outside of the legs, where broad stitching forms a decorative line to cover most of the seam. Small buttons of bone keep the pants secure at the waist.
It can only be worn in the following location: legs.
It has 38 months of usefulness left.
It weighs about 2 pounds and 0 ounce(s).
It will benefit from a primary and secondary dye.
It bears the distinctive mark of Evening Sky, Teani Fiadhaich.
Sturdy, utilitarian short pants is holding:
"case35267"               an ornate leviathanbone cigarette case
    It is holding 1 objects.

*All of those. Though when I agree with the last one, I mean I have a thousand or so descs on paper and if I rounded them all up, I'd have another thousand or so in addition to the designs I already have.
*I have over a thousand designs currently.
*When I finish my current craft binge, I will have more than a thousand designs on Erzsebet alone, not counting any of the ones Kiralla has. Now I'm probably 20 or so designs shy of 1000 total on Erz, counting the ones that Ve'kahi formally owns as hers.
*I'm slowly but surely going through and tagging all of my designs with colour/material/shop they're stocked in. It's taking forever.

Sarita is occasionally guilty of distorting facts or historical events to push for a certain political agenda. Usually she'll back it up with something like, "Oh, but this post here says..." even if she knows she's taking it out of context or whatever.

That said, I kind of feel like Angwe. 10 real years of Aetolian events, lore, and expanding history can be a lot to keep track of. I don't know if having an OOC thing necessarily would fix it, but if there are ways of gods correcting blatantly wrong things (like a guard overhearing a conversation in a city and speaking up), I definitely wouldn't mind that.
It's hard not to get some things wrong. I have a One Note notebook where I keep information about things that've happened to my character, but it's definitely not an exhaustive resource. I have some of the original stuff I wrote for the Bloodborn almost 10 years ago. some roleplay logs from when Veovis was a Shallamese priest. It's pretty amazing for a character I thought I'd play once or twice before going back to Achaea.

I do have a confession: I'm a little sad that Veovis and Abhorash will never get to resolve the issues that arose when Abhorash used him as a pawn in Kauller's government after she staged her coup. We used to have some excellent animosity toward each other as a result of events.

For the most part, I don't like RPing privately (i.e., in havens or what have you) because I like the idea that anyone at any time could barge in and change up the scene.

    I'll bite.

    • There are times I actually forget how to roleplay, because I will go for long stretches of no significant interaction between Iosyne and anyone else. I've actually worried about messing up, either by using ( ), $, or _his, etc., too many times to count.
    • Up until very recently (due to certain in-game plot developments!), I had Iosyne avoid a lot of interactions with mortals, because it was too tempting to break character. In real life, I tend to be too nice to people, and I fretted overly about breaking that aspect of Iosyne's personality.
    • I have accidentally stolen from a number of people's inventories/caches by mistyping a number. (they always get it back, of course!)
    • I feel like the worst mistake I have ever made was zapping the wrong person, who had a very similar name.
    • I am responsible for the forum's "unicorns" censored word replacement.

Every. Single. One of us does this. Thank god the message we get tells us where the item was before we abducted it.

The problem is when you mistype and steal several hundred thousand gold from the inventory of an inactive player...
  • IN MY DEFENSE, I've never touched gold. That was so @Dhar.

*I just stared at Maghak's sig for like 15 minutes because it was entrancingly in tune with the dubstep I was listening to.
*I avoid engaging in/going out of my way to RP with most Gods in general--not because you aren't awesome folk, but because it makes me worry about messing up to an extent that makes me unable to play Erz the way I feel she's supposed to be played. In some instances, knowing the player behind the God negates that entirely. In others, it's just as bad.
*I make really long to-do-lists with things I need to do for Aetolia. These to-do-lists never get completely finished. They end up about half scratched out, at which point, I make a new list, transferring the remnants of the other to the new. I did this last night. • - I made all the planthoppers in Duiran liquid containers while trying to fix a bug. Magic!
    - I accidentally deleted some mob that I felt was rather unimportant and a relic of Achaea. Someone noticed, like, two years later. :(
    - I've fallen asleep several times while roleplaying with people. Nope, you're not boring--I'm just tired.

  • I fall asleep all the time during RP to the point I think some people make it a point to not role play with me.

I constantly worry that certain people/Gods above me in orgs hate me because I didn't do something fast enough or when I said I would, and I'm never sure how to clean it up.

Like, I said I would write item X, and then ended up doing a whole rework of org stuff Y instead. MAKES ME SO ANTSY.

I'm sure I'm going to be soulfully eyeing this other org rework I have backlogged while writing said item tomorrow, and I will WRITE THE DAMN ITEM ANYWAY.

Also, @Ferrik, I'm sorry. You know why. We'll get that shit done tomorrow, I PROMISE. REMIND ME. PLS.

Anyway. I'm better about it now.

I'm intimidated by people in Aetolia and am scared to RP, or even TALK with them for fear of them thinking I'm stupid.

  • I've only really ran into your character.. once.

(This should go in your self-aff but that's a few clicks too far for me)

And you did an ace job. Loved it, she had presence and personality, great emotes.

    If you're able, I wouldn't worry.

I really wish this wasn't a thing in our community. I'd like to think there's a good chunk of the playerbase who are patient, understanding and tolerant as players regardless of whether or not their characters are not. Don't be afraid!

I'm sure one of the Prideleaders will eventually describe the Sentinel's guildshop.

    But it won't be me.

I'm kind of rushing through a list of things I've wanted to do/write for a while this week because I'm having surgery soon and I know I'll be useless afterwards. I also know that not everything will go in immediately because it relies on some patron help, work from other people, and I'm hoping that'll drag out during the time that I'm drugged up and stuff. (Of course I've been not doing some of those things for weeks/months/years (in one case), but to be fair, @Iosyne is a much more awesome Bahir'an patron than our last one so it's very tempting to take advantage of her while I can.

Veovis will do it for you.

I have some of the same fear that @arbre does. I know my grammar sucks and I word things weirdly. I also don't type as fast as some. So, I tend to just RP with people I'm comfortable with. I am working on this though.

    Some other confessions:
I get irritable with people who take an enormously long time to respond and I'm talking like 15 mins.

I have a hard time with novices because I've played the game so long it is hard for me to explain things I use without thinking.

Even though I have leadership positions and I do take a small time to make sure I get stuff done: I play this game for the friends I have made and the RP I have. I'm on the west coast and most of the people I RP with are on the East ( @rashar is the exception) so when I get home from work, I only get 2-3 hours to RP with them, so other things IG get put on the back burner.

I have a lot of crafting skills and I hate it nowadays. I've had some major meltdowns because people were trying to get to me change things because they didn't think it was the right way to do it. So, now I just craft things for myself or to give out to others.

I hate drama and if I hear about a character making a lot of drama, I will avoid RP with them because I can't stand it. Might not be fair to them but emotionally I can't handle some of the over-the-top stuff.

Umm, that's all I can think of for now.

What happened to the old description? I wrote one way back in the day when Xon was GM and we had that for like RL years.
  • The shops lost their descriptions when Duiran was remodeled. Bad Sentinels! Lazy!

Me and Kaira were supposed to bang one out eventually, but we got sidetracked (by DDO). For reference, it's been like that for four Prideleaders now, (@Sibatti, @Damonicus, @Kiyotan and now Angwe).

    Old shop description:

    A hunter's makeshift shop
Pelts and provisions line the walls of this humble tent, creating a cramped makeshift shop. Bounties of the woods sit in deep baskets, while deep piles of rich furs have been stacked beside them. Dried herbs hanging from the canvas ceiling create low overhead room, with roughly-woven baskets, filled to the brim with vials, encroaching on the scant floor space of the shelter. A set of antlers serves as a crude coat rack, displaying a variety of clothing, and a small wooden frame rests below that, holding a range of weapons for the woodland hunter. Twisted stumps, planed and sanded into smooth chairs, ring the entry to the bazaar, offering shoppers a place to sit while browsing the wares. Surrounded by this panapoly of goods sits a humble woodsman, dressed in faded leathers and suntanned to a deep, nutty brown. His broad grin a crease in his wrinkled face, he welcomes shoppers to his establishment, one hand lightly gripping a plain wooden spear.

My confession: I log everything. I have triggers that autocreate logs whenever I login. My computer died during my hiatus back around...uhh 2009, I think?...so I lost like 8 years of logs from various games and it made me very very sad. The only stuff I have from before that is stuff I emailed to myself from back when I was constantly bouncing between cities, school, etc.
  • Ooh. On the subjects of logs. I don't log -everything-, but I log most things which are important to my character at all.

Which. Confession: I am a touch OCD with my filing system. If Moirean and Erzsebet had an awesomesauce interaction, to get to the saved log I'd go My documents - Wordfiles - Kira'sAetwordfiles - RPLogs - Erzsebet - Moirean. And then the file'd be named Erzsebet - Moirean - Awesomesauce(whatever I happened to title it) With the addendum of a number if it was part of an arc.

I have folders for designs, for lectures, for news posts, for help files--anything I write for Aet.
