Why should anyone be mad about not getting a refund on it? I think you're looking at it wrong.
You paid for a 7% speed increase.
Crown gets deleted and abilities adjusted to compensate.
The end result is you still have your 7% speed increase you paid for. Just now everyone has it. Assuming retirement value was fixed for compensation, everything is more or less the same but better, the economy isn't impacted (either negatively or positively) due to 850 bound cr coming in and future magelings and fireflies and sparklebats don't have to live off of Ramen for a full month to be on even ground with those of us who bit the bullet and made that sacrifice.

It's not even a matter of unbalance. I'd be curious to see what class literally cannot function without it. As far as I am aware it's simply an advantage/edge, as all combat artifacts are. Sometimes it can be harder to reach that level of edge when someone else has ALL the artifacts so maybe that's when not having it feels extra harsh, but I guess situations like that are probably the prime motivator for sales.

I didn't know whether to go to the LOVE thread or to here with this. I opted for here because I do want to say thank you to all those people who have made this (rather intensive RP) Easter weekend so much fun.

@Rhyot and Bloodlochians, you are complaining about people leaving, Then fucking join the guild, have BL people populate it. Just cus my RP has shaped into something that makes Xenia just as invested in Spinesreach as other places doesn't mean I want to see the guild fail and don't care. It's a kick in the teeth to make the choice that Xenia's going to be that person who went back on her sworn oaths, I'm accepting and playing out this character choice and it's fine. Why don't you and the rest of Bloodloch start doing the same and stop bitching about what we're going to do and instead get proactive about making the Carnifex a good option for those players who are STILL on the fence? I'm making my plan, and when they ask me what I'm doing I tell them, that sounds better than the prospect of an empty guild and they find themselves wanting to do that instead. That's not my fault, either. You guys need to get proactive. Displaced bloodborns still kicking around, idle top tier Bloodlochians should join up and give it a new face. You don't like the military RP, great change it! This is your chance! But seriously, stop complaining about what we're going to do as we attempt to move on.
If there are any Carnifex still complaining and upset about whatever 'work'/resources/etc. you put in get over it. Stop being selfish and be happy that as a player you might have contributed something to a faction of the game that's going to actually exist. Are you seriously going to complain about this? Come on, don't be petty.
Everyone else -- mind your own business and stop trying to meta-game us by putting people on tilt with all the opinions that lack insight, empathy and are generally insensitive. Don't you want what we do to be healthy and positive to the game?

I think that's one thing that is lost in all of the OOC communication, at least for some people. Part of the joy of roleplaying in a game like this is that you're not supposed to know the outcome. You're not supposed to know that somehow everything will work out. Roleplaying when you know the slated outcome almost feels like cheating, to me. Sure, I have the journey to experience part of it, but the resolution is just as important of a plot point.I don't think I know a single person who considers themselves a serious roleplayer yet plans the outcome of RP before it happens. I don't disagree with the rest of what you said but this one came way outta left field - do people really do this?

I agree with @Rhyot. I think it could do people good to be able to actually rant towards the players of the game, instead of harassing their irl friends who doesn't give a crap, which causes you to keep it inside and you just get more and more bitter.
Sadly, I don't think we will GET a rant section, because the players of Aetolia can't stop metagaming things. If someone says something about someone oocly on the forums, I can assure you it will somehow find its way into the game.
I am positive I would play a whole lot more and feel better about this game if I could release some tension, but instead, I just stop playing. I don't like it, since Aetolia has been a big part of my life for years and years, but I don't find enjoyment in it anymore, due to small issues that I could leave behind if I could just rant.
