Artisanal and Bardic Competition!
As promised, the Artisanal and Bardic contest is making a return for October!
It is my aim going forward to host one of these alongside major events or milestones (yes this means you can expect another one for Year 500!) so that they are semi-frequent again.
Entries should be submitted via e-mail to support@aetolia.com with a clear subject line. The closing date for submissions is 1st November, so you have the whole month to put something together!
Please include the name of your character when making a submission, and remember that it is limited to one entry per person!
As this is Aetolia's 20th birthday month, history is on our minds and so the theme for this round is: LEGACY. Let your imaginations go wild!
HELP BARDIC and HELP ARTISANAL contain some useful information, and there will be separate prizes and placings for Artisanal entries and Bardic entries.
1st place: 500 credits, 4 points
2nd place: 350 credits, 2 points
3rd place: 200 credits, 1 point
The points go towards the Artisanal and Bardic Fellowships as outlined in the respective help files.
COPYRIGHT NOTICE
----------------
All submitted works become the sole property of Iron Realms Entertainment, with all copyright assigned to Iron Realms Entertainment. The reason for this is that we wish to be eternally free to display winning works on our website. If you still have a problem with this, consider that the only works that will win are ones that have something to do with Aetolia, and you couldn't sell those anyway. We don't mind you also posting the works on your website though.
Good luck!

October in Aetolia!
October has arrived and Aetolia's 20th birthday will soon be upon us! Alongside a host of events, games, and other celebrations throughout the month, the Wheel of Fates is making a return!
Logging in for at least an hour each day earns a free spin and premium skull tokens can be obtained on the Aetolia website at www.aetolia.com/credits.
Each premium spin will also award a ticket in the Iron Lottery running throughout the month for a chance to win 1000 bound credits! Tickets can also be earned in game through various means. See HELP IRON LOTTERY for specifics.
Those who obtain skull tokens can SPIN WHEEL OUTER SKULL up to three times to determine their prize category followed by SPIN WHEEL INNER SKULL to win prizes. I have cleaned up the wheel prize list somewhat and the options available include:
Outer Wheel - Credits:
Credit prizes (unbound) ranging from 30-200
Outer Wheel - Iron Coins:
Iron Coins in batches of 25 or 50
Outer Wheel - Lessons:
Lesson prizes ranging from 200-500
Outer Wheel - Artifact:
Artifacts ranging from 50 credits in value up to 800 credits in value
Outer Wheel - Item:
Morphic metal
Elemental Globes
Customisation certificates
Chocolate bags
Artifact discount vouchers
Artifact tattoos
Compendium pages including new pages*
Outer Wheel - Relic:
A selection of relic pieces, specifically pieces for: observereyes, flair_zombie, mummify, caudum, bloodyfang, goldtranslocator, and arachnida_shield.
* Alongside some of the usual suspects, there are now pages available for: Drakuum, Eftehl, Itzatl Morass, The Squal, The Volcano, Ulangi Hive, and Welto!
NOTE: Compendium Pages now trade in for 6 credits up from 3. This applies to all pages, not just the new areas!
HELP WHEEL OF FATES now has all of the up to date information! Purchases of tokens now also reward Guild and City credits!
~ ~ ~
All of the scheduled activities mentioned in Announce #3221 can now be found listed under EVENTS. Be sure to configure your timezone so that this is accurate for you!
Those of you with a penchant for history may want to head over to the Grand Library where Tegoleth is offering a themed daily quest throughout October! Acquire this quest in the usual fashion and you will receive a commemorative tome along with clues to follow that lead to a specific area (these will never be in cities). Head to this area and follow Tegoleth's instructions to complete your quest for the day!
Each completion will add a new atmospheric emote to your tome, themed around a past event. There are 31 of these to collect in total, and completing the quest 20 times throughout October will reward you with the remaining 11 to complete the set.
Fear not, if you complete the quest fewer than 20 times you will still have access to those entries that you did complete, and when the tome is dropped in a location, it will cycle through the available atmospherics!
Lastly, pay a visit to the newly opened Harpy's Head Tavern at v71087, where Hethia, the proprietor awaits your business! This tavern has several fun features as well as a shop filled with wares themed around Aetolian history. Be sure to read the sign!
Keep an eye out for my next post where I will be opening the Artisanal and Bardics contest for October.
Enjoy!

Classleads October 2021
An early surprise classlead round is now open!
Just to note, this isn't part of the normal itinerary that we usually do, however both myself and Ictinus think it would be good to let you all voice any ideas/thoughts you may have that need addressing. As such, we will be allowing three reports per a person instead of the usual one.
In addition, we are going to trial anonymous report submissions for this round too. Readers will not be able to tell who submitted a report when viewing new reports made this round. Unfortunately this also means I've had to remove all unsubmitted reports, just so no one can connect the dots. Please send a message to Nalus if you desperately need that information again. Archived reports will remain as they are.
Lastly, please try and keep your reports related to classes and skills for this round. Other inquiries should use their relevant systems instead (such as orgreqs).
---
Information for classleads:
Submissions will be open for TWO WEEKS in which you will to submit THREE reports in for consideration. Once this time frame is up, there will be THREE DAYS to vote before we will start posting decisions. You can still vote early as per normal, but the extra three days will be there to avoid the feeling of late reports purposefully being submitted to be snuck through near the end.
For this round, you will not be able to submit classlead reports for both Luminary and Indorani, due to their upcoming mirror status.
If you're new, continue on below for more information on classleads. If you're old, please read HELP CLASSLEAD GUIDELINES at the very least.
---
What are classleads:
Classleads are a two week period that allows players to submit reports about their class (or other classes) for review by the administration. Struggling to land that finishing blow as a Zealot? Then this is what you've been waiting for!
Make sure to read through HELP CLASSLEADS to learn the commands needed to make and submit your reports, and I also highly recommend HELP CLASSLEAD GUIDELINES to help avoid common potholes when creating your submissions.
If you want to keep track of submissions and results, have a look at CONFIG CLASSLEADS and consider turning it on.
Details on submission:
* Newly created reports will be marked as anonymous, your name as a submitter will not be revealed to others.
* You may submit up to a total of three reports across the skillsets of the game to suggest combat balance adjustments, new features, or quality of life upgrades. Please note that this limit is based across all characters you own.
* Reports that are based on skills you do not possess will be much more heavily scrutinized, so make sure they are top-notch before submission.
* While you must provide reasonable solutions to your report's problem, we may opt for a fourth solution instead based upon feedback.
* Once a report is submitted, -anyone- may vote upon its merit using the CLASSLEAD <#> SUPPORT/REJECT <reason> commands. If you wish to support/reject a report, please provide your reasoning and make sure to point out any shortcomings or additions you feel might be necessary. You may also simply leave a comment using CLASSLEAD <#> COMMENT <reason>, if you wish for a more neutral approach.
* Any commentary which basically boils down to 'I agree with my bud' or 'This is a terrible idea' will automatically be discarded, and will you hurt your chances at passing through reports in future rounds, perhaps even resulting in loss of ability to submit at all. If you can consistently provide level-headed thought and in depth knowledge then your opinions will be valued more highly over others, and could result in extra submissions.
* You can use REPORTS ABSTAINED and REPORTS UNCOMMENTED to find submitted reports you have not voted upon or commented.
