All -
As Alterus is no longer a member of the ruling council, or even a
citizen of Enorian, I would like to speak a little more openly about the
situation between the Paladins and Enorian.
When Alterus approached me initially, he wanted me to help him punish a
person who was out of his grasp, having left his guild, for a crime said
person did not do. He had no proof, and it was little more than hearsay.
It was when I refused to punish said person further, that he took
matters into his own hands and abused his abilities as a Herald of
Enorian - abilities that are given to him to enforce the laws of
Enorian, not the regulations of the Paladin guild.
When I told him no, Alterus then blackmailed the city, threatening to
break every treaty with the city unless we let him do what he wants to
do - his right, as he called it - and indeed breaking one treaty with
the city.
He began spinning a tail of the city interfering with his guilds rights
to other Paladins, in an attempt to gain support among his own people.
Each Paladin who spoke to me, I answered every question they had.
There was a political way to do what Alterus wanted: Write a post,
suggest it as a law, and let us vote.
He never did that. In fact, once he had been told no, he never spoke to
me again. The other Bezaliels also refused to speak, most of them
sitting around with the city channel ignored in their minds. One thing
I've learned since returning is that the Bezaliels don't like being told
no, and when you tell them no, they throw a fit like a five year old.
I am not a babysitter. If you want to help Enorian, I will gladly
welcome your help. If you want to act like a child, then I'm going to
treat you like a child.
However, with this change comes opportunity, especially for those of you
that are younger. You will notice many new Ministers have been appointed
recently, and they need aides. I'm going to look at aides before I look
at regular citizens when jobs open up.
Step up for Enorian, and help your city out. Almost every Ministry could
use the help. Hone your combat skills, Enorian, so that we can take back
the Pash Valley and the villages outlying.
Be ready, Enorian, because much like children, I think the Bezaliels
will be back. Only this time, it would not surprise me to see them
wielding their weapons for the enemy. I hope I am wrong. Many of them
are fine people when they want to be.
To the Paladins, Enorian stands ready to negotiate openly with your
guild, as we have throughout this entire affair. I hope to meet whoever
you elect as your guildmaster soon, so we can put this mess behind us.
You are an integral part of the city of Enorian.
