Nah the Spirean equivalent of Duamvi is going to be a Severn-endorsed beastman subrace (minotaurs, catgirls, etc) and ShadowZealot tertiary balance will manipulate a sequin dress rather than a chain
You express your esteem of @Aramaeus for: Ara is a really well-focused and intentionally designed character with pathos and it's a joy to RP with him. I'm really tired so this esteem is a bit less verbose than I'd like but you're literally one of the best RPers in the game.
An agonized scream startles all into a brief hushed silence as Aramaeus finally transcends the mortal body, assuming the hollow form of a Tekal.
Rest assured that while we're considering the issue, we're not going to be able to deliver a response while people - paid staff included - are busy celebrating a holiday and dealing with the other chaos in the world.
Thank you all for your patience. We've read and understood the criticisms on display here, and we're going to close the thread as we deliberate!
I'm going to second @Bulrok's opinion that win rate is not a good indication of class strength since there is a fair amount within Aetolia's combatant population that are not fighting optimally. Read: their system has no mechanics in place for certain classes, using default prios for every class, has no custom prios for certain classes, prios are completely out of whack. Additionally, there are combatants that are just talented enough to make the most out of any class because of the aforementioned reason, but that can be used as logic against buffing their class because of the flimsy reasoning of: "Well, they're winning, right? Do they really need buffs?". Mjoll is a good example of someone who is going to win regardless of Carnifex's status, but that doesn't mean Carnifex is in a good state at all. In fact, I'd say that it suffers immensely at the highest end right now.
I'm of the opinion that we should bring the Liaison Arena back, for one, and that Aetolia needs a combat council for data feeding and testing. I get that people hate the idea of a "combat council" because it sounds like liaisons/classleads/etc. again but I'm not saying they're the only ones who can submit reports. I'm saying that there should be a group of established combatants who are feeding data to the administration to help them make more informed balance decisions and offering their opinion on reports. Right now, when I'm trying to test for mechanics, I'm doing the equivalent of black box testing trying to figure out/guesstimate how certain abilities are coded or what the damage formula is for certain abilities. Liaison Arena and a combat council can help mitigate that.
In essence: I'd like to see an Aetolian Combat Council akin to Achaea while everyone retains the ability to submit reports. I'm also fairly sure Tiur is going to take feedback from Keroc, Razmael, and any other Celani that might've been combatants prior to being in the Pools. My hope is that he will also solicit feedback from established combatants on some classes as well.
My greatest fear is classleads becoming an arm's race out of pettiness or spite, because after seeing one report where comments were made un-anonymous and revealed to be pretty nasty, I have a feeling that is where we're heading.
You use Fishing Reel. You use Fishing Catch. Added a great white shark to your bucket! At 84000 kg, this falls below your heaviest catch of a great white shark at this hole by 149 kg, 90 g. Experience Gained: 2276 (Quest) [total: 1019130]
Gold in Aetolia is gained not so much in huge amounts by doing one thing, but by doing multiple things that all bring in a decent profit. I'm going to give you some steps to take below that are going to put you on the right track.
1. HELP YLEM MISTS - You probably already know about this. If not, get a gauntlet and goggles so you can take advantage of turning in mists for gold.
2. Go to your city's ylem mines once per day and complete the quest there. Not only does this give you gold, but killing eld will give you reserves if you have the REFINING skill which can then be used to boost the gold drops of NPCs, increase your exp gain, and increase the chance for ylem mists to appear. (read AB RESEARCH MODIFICATIONS for more info)
3. Make sure you have quest hints on and take the time to explore ALL the areas that are at and under your current level. Quests often give gold and/or experience as a reward.
4. Vermin - Every city has an NPC that will pay you for killing vermin and turning them in. For a new player this is an easy and profitable way to make a steady amount of gold.
5. Every city rewards participation in foci battles with some form of point system. DO THIS! You're going to die, do it anyway! Not only can you take advantage of the points to get gold, credits, cute little squirrel minipets, etc. but you'll also be learning the ropes of group combat and helping your team out even if you're just absorbing hits a few times before dying. There is no loss for pk deaths in pk aura but huge exp for assisting in kills, so you're always winning by showing up to these.
Those are my two sovereigns. Lastly, don't get discouraged. I know it's a complicated game but stick with it, ask a bazillion questions and you'll do well.
