Aya doesn't really know that much of Kaiara yet. She has, however, been a rather good influence on Aya. Even way back when when she was a Carnifex and tried mocking Ethne. Kaiara put her in her place in the most gentle, polite way. Since then, the character has intrigued me and I am so happy that we have had a chance to have small little chitters every so often. I eagerly await when the two will get to know each other better!
Kaiara has become one of my favorite people to RP with over the last couple of months. The strange friendship that spawned between her and Roux has just taken me by surprise, and that little Kelki can draw out some of the most protective and frustrated emotions from Roux. I am back and forth between d'aawing at the cute and then giggling at the absurdity and then being like 'No she didn't!' while I wait for Roux to just implode from whatever was just said.
Your writing is lovely but not too verbose, a really good mixture of informative and decorative and a pleasure to read and respond to. Kaiara is quirky and waaaay too innocent for her own good, and I hope to be there when she needs bailed out of whatever trouble her science-seeking has led her into. I have a feeling this rapscallion will be following her around for a while to come so as to watch while yet another wide-eyed innocent Kaiara interaction bends people to her will in the most pleasant manner possible.
When last I left a comment here for Saidenn, he was only just beginning to develop more than just a relationship of tutelage and colleagueship with Elene. It's been six real life months, and a lot has changed over the course of time.
It's obvious now that whatever Saidenn is to the woman, it is definitely impactful. His passionate enthusiasm and the earnestness in which he carries himself with has broken through the barrier that is Elene's standoffish personality, and has introduced her to this world of vulnerability once more. In a way, she's finding herself in her new personal journey down Chakrasul's spiral, confronting her fears through the flurry of feelings this Idreth has put her under.
However, what Elene finds difficult to tackle in Saidenn is his dichotomy; he is simultaneously an emotional person, as much as he is an Archivist driven by logic. The way he vacillates between these two states is something that has always come up as a possible point of contention between the two of them. He is often times confident that he is able to keep the boundaries between these two sides of him separate - logically, duty and obligations should always come before self-interest - yet amongst several moments where Elene's concerns have been proven to be unfounded, there are also situations where her words are proven right: that it isn't always possible to do that.
On the same note, when it is time to be emotionally emphatic, it seems to Elene that Saidenn thinks and tackles some situations with a logical brain and that as a result, transforms into source of frustration for her, as he occasionally comes across almost too clinical to the point of selfishness. For Elene who recognizes herself as one very much in touch with her self-centered and possessive nature, it then becomes a question of who has to be the one to compromise in their relationship, which has absolutely changed the dynamics between the both of them.
Elene's relationship with Saidenn has grown immensely despite all these troubles and even though the process to where it is now hasn't been very smooth-sailing. She is no longer as uncomfortable to show that she has fallen in love with the cat and loves him dreadfully. Unfortunately, that has also opened up its own can of problems (which happens when you insert feelings to a previously unfeeling monster), so Saidenn is very often the first to bear the brunt of any spillover feelings, to the point where I'm sure it tests the limits of his patience.
I also feel that given the additions and changes to Saidenn's personal life, he is still struggling to find the balance between fulfilling his roles in leadership and partitioning the rest of his time to fit in people as well as activities that are deemed important to him. While he is certainly getting better over time, he definitely needs to learn to take a breather sometimes, how to say no more often, when to put his foot down, and also to re-evaluate his priorities.
What I do appreciate about Saidenn, however, is his different approach to leadership and way of doing things that he is bringing along with his youthfulness. It has brought a lot of new life and activity into the Archivists, and that has personally brought renewed excitement into the way I approach the game. I can't speak for Spinesreach, but as a Thronekeeper of Bloodloch, it's nice to be reassured that our allied city on the same tether continues to have a reasonable Chair, capable of reason and there to lend support, if necessary.
As a player, I absolutely find joy in interacting with your character, not only because it is rare to find someone who goes into the intricacies and tics of an anthropomorphic person, but also because for a character with a really plain background, you have managed to create so much depth in his personality and motivations that every time I get the opportunity to roleplay with you, there's always something different to observe, learn, and explore. Your character's increasing fascination with Numerology is well-demonstrated on a visible progress scale, and chief of all, your emotes are written really well.
Tldr; You better not quit on me, I'm having a blast RPing with you when we find the opportunity to do so, and thanks for bringing such a rich environment of fun to my experience of the game.
I look forward to Saidenn's further maturation and future interactions, and hope that Elene can continue to play her role in that process.
EDIT: SORRY I TOLD MYSELF NOT TO GO ALL LONGFORM BUT I DID. NOT SORRY.
@Ayastia - Unfortunately, with the way our roleplay situations have evolved, I likely do not see it entwining as much. Neither individual can stand each other, I thoroughly agree, so we'll see if anything naturally comes out of our stories!
@Holbrook - It's always very interesting to see how Elene is perceived from a new person's point of view. I don't want to scare people away so I'm glad that I seem to have gotten that balance right. Thanks!
@Fyrren - Pleasant surprise in our recent interaction! I am liking the depths that we have only began to brush. You're accurate in discerning Elene on the surface as an elegant sadist, and it pleases me to know that what I intended is coming out as it should.
@Sryaen - The student is trying to avoid the teacher, and the teacher is sulking. The most infuriating part of Sryaen is the way he tries not to let himself linger in a place where Elene is/turns up at for too long. That being said, with the amount of insight Sryaen has into her, it's highly interesting that you saw Desian being this controlling force while he was around, and the lack of it has untethered her. Come to think of it, it's something I actually never actively realised, but you're right, in his absence, Elene has developed into a whole different monster (which you largely have Naos, the Carnifex guild, and Saidenn to thank for!) By the looks of things, it's hitting all the right notes for people familiar with the woman. Come make more deals with the devil, pleaaase.
@Teotl - It is only a lament that I wasn't able to interact more with you while you were still Chosen and Consanguine! Teotl is one of the rare few who have seen how wild she can be when touched by Corruption's hand, and I still have that log to look at, to help me along when I find myself struggling with that part of Elene. Thank you for your feedback!
There has never been a point in Lin's life in which Mazzion could not simply cast his terrible eyes upon her and vaporize her with a single attack, yet I remember hanging out with Laelio in the Tundra, when he swings through our room, only to double back, bow his head and say "hail to the Nightmare's Eye" and leave. We have never shared another word since.
When my character was still new, I remember @Mazzion giving me like 10 credits just for something silly or newbish I was saying or doing at the time. Also all the times that he's one of the few consistent leaders that will charge in and lead Shadow to make things competitive at lessers and such. A truly classic and old school Aetolian.
That being said...You're not my real dad! Happy Father's Day.
Some of my most cherished memories with @Mazzion were when I was still on Shadow side and we would roll into Enorian sewers to raid the city. I want to say there were a few times where we obliterated all the guards and it was Mazz, me, Kadvar, maybe Desian, Ramali and Kikon too? just walking around Four Corners like free men, cuz nobody dared touch us so long as we had big bad Mazz. After coming back from my hiatus, it's been real good to see a friendly face around - even when I'm busy dying to you at foci battles.
