I'd not accept milkshakes (believe I objected to that over the Crafters clan), a skating uniform (described in just that way) would not be acceptable, while a dress described as the kind of thing ice-skaters use would be fine. Just about how you phrase it.
There are many things put into the game in way of design patterns that I really dislike because they are too modern. Most things can still be described as something more specific without having to add the name to it. This is why I am hesitant to agree to things like in first post of this thread: cheongsam, choli, lehenga. These are RL names of dress designs with special cultural traits. You can still describe a normal dress to make it look like one of those things without having to add it said RL name as an alias. WEAR DRESS works just as well, especially since you also have the WORN and REMOVED messages to help describe how the piece of clothing is actually put on and taken off.

as a brand new novice, I'd actually warn people away from Enorian, I'm not so sure about it now, since it's been a year or so since I last participated, and that was when @moirean was still in charge of it, but I'd say go Carnifex, they're a rogue knight guild, militaristic as crap, and the RP there is overflowing. As in, I recall that it was extremely common for someone in command to call a fall-in for ALL novices and ANYONE who was below a certain rank, with a prompt inspection of gear, a quiz, and more invitation to RP. In fact, I can recall a particular time whilst I was a novice there where we were asked about weakness, and I pointed at a present older-ranked Carnifex who was a vampire, and I straight up said "an addiction to blood is a weakness in my eyes, a reliance on a substance before going crazy"...and then promptly had my teeth kicked in within a sparring area within the guildhall for the insult, but it was actually pretty fun, even was ordered to scrub the latrine afterwards, and actually had someone stand there and RP with me as I was emoting scrubbing the latrine.
and no, it's not catchall evil..hasn't been for a long while.. the Carnifex Knight class also has warhounds. and I'd say go for Spinesreach over Enorian, because the time I tried there, I felt ignored for the most part when I was trying to ask questions, and if you're craving RP, though Carnifex doesn't exactly require a guild since it's a "rogue guild" with a guildhall outside of the cities. I am rather fond of these gold nerfs, because now it forces people to actually fucking do something instead of sitting afk in their haven or roleplaying for hours upon hours on end. Hurray!!! 
Although now, instead of playing a prim and proper person wearing a whole bunch of fancy clothing for every damn scenario, you get to play a pauper and RP about how you're broke and too lazy to hunt because it hinders your ability to talk to/RP with people. Priorities people, priorities. Lol.
Fun fact: Alternatively, you could just all your stuff decay and never care about clothes again, because who actually looks at the shit people are/aren't wearing??

A 'simple alias' will track how many slices or herbs you're holding at any given moment without the aid of INV? What simple alias?
Problem:
Holding herbs and slices on hand is a part of combat, and the need for it is outdated and irritating. One needs to hold a number of these curatives on hand, or 'pre-cache', because afflictions like broken arms, web, and so forth prevent you from using any OutC commands. Many more reasons existed that made pre-caching needed, and changes have spoken for the game's stance on these fixed problems. Some issues included: old aeon, where the extra commands could have killed you; constant hangedman, what isn't possible anymore; staggered and stacked writhing afflictions, what aren't possible anymore; and constant paralysis, what now doesn't stop OutC as paresis or full paralysis. In other games, opposing sides could collect and use the herbs and gold the enemy drops. In this game, living and undead curatives aren't worthwhile loot for opposing sides, and no other form of looting is mechanically encouraged. Pipes and syringes don't have these restrictions on refilling, though they do have bal/eq for lighting/flicking which is addressed in artifacts. The new FluidCache does not have these restrictions. No class relies on locking OutC to get their kill, nor does any class expect curing to be slowed when it happens. Teaming doesn't need this advantage, as there are more efficient ways to kill single targets in a team setting. All this mechanism does now is raise the difficulty of entry into PvP for new people, and make slices and herbs random litter.

What I should have said was I remember it not being fun to rat hunt for elixers costing 300-1200 per. Considering refills are cheaper now by a factor of 10, and there are more ways to earn gold, I wouldn't worry too much.Jensen said:Before mobs dropped gold commonly we had to hunt vermin, know gold quests, and play the comms/credits market where you could. Okay, I'm sorry. My bad. How -dare- I ask the people who have more gold than they know what to do with exercise just a little bit of restraint before they ruin the credit market for the people who aren't absolutely rolling in cash, or look at the bigger picture for what amounts to a rather small community of people.
Let me ask you this: What, exactly, was keeping the credit prices stable before cryptic chests were even a thing? Because yeah, they had crept upwards, but they were fairly stable in cost and it's not like gold generation was any harder back then than it was a few weeks ago. Honestly, the catching point for me is the statement that cryptic chests were the only thing keeping the value of credits stable, when they had been fairly stable for years with only minor inflation going on without the existence of chests.

See, @Toz, that's where you're getting my point twisted. The hardcore players have some responsibility, at least in my opinion, to police themselves and realize when what they're doing might actually be damaging the ability of newer players to get a start at the game.
But that's my personal opinion. Again, I don't think it's asking too much to ask those handful of people that are rolling in millions of gold to exercise just a bit of restraint.
But thanks for the rather un-needed economics lesson. I get how the economics works. What I don't get is the resistance to the idea that a bit of restraint may be a good thing for the playerbase.

You have my deepest condolences, Malok. I know that feeling- like you somehow could have done something to stop what occurred 'if only'- but you are absolutely correct that it was his choice and you shouldn't carry the weight of his decision on your own shoulders. He probably wouldn't have wanted, or even anticipated, your guilt as a result of his action. I lost a dear childhood friend myself back in '09 who I'd let contact with slide, and I've had those regrets that I didn't reach out to her sooner but it is what it is. The path of communication goes both ways and some will hide their pain so effectively that no one can help in time. You can't blame yourself in this.
Sadly, suicide is the choice of those who, for some reason, don't know or accept that they have other options but there are always other options. It's also the highest act of selfishness, in my personal opinion, as ending a life affects all those who know the person- not only currently but previously too. No person is an island unto themselves.
Anyway, stay safe, keep your loved ones close, grieve as is natural, and remember your friend as he was. Sorry you're going through this.
