Subj: On tokens

I've been seeing a bit of confusion with my use of '+' in tokens so I
wanted to clear some things up for you about tokens in crafting.

Fun fact: You can add a plus to any token to force it to capitalize!
This is often superfluous for names but it's never a bad habit.

$(name$) --> $+(name$) : Sally --> Sally

$(he$) --> $+(he$) : he --> He
she --> She

$(his$) --> $+(his$) : his --> His
her --> Her

You get the idea. This is useful for when you have a situation like:

' ... slurping down leeks, carrots, potatoes, and meat. $(he$) is
left chewing... '

This would result in 'slurping down leeks, carrots, potatoes, and meat.
he is left chewing', which is incorrect. By adding a '+' to the 'he'
token and making it $+(he$), this can be corrected.

Another thing of note: The parser will not allow you to use invalid
tokens in a design. Try to use $(her$), $(thing$), or $(butt$), and
you'll get an error message. So if you see a design with tokens in it,
chances are they're valid! Just make sure the '+' isn't being used
inappropriately.

    not sure if this is the location for this, but I am curious, in the english language he/she is never capitalized other than in reference to a God.  So why does this counter this??  Am I missing something?  please help clarify...thanks

    Beginning of a sentence.

  • Pronouns are still capitalized when they are the first word in a sentence, which seems to be the example being demonstrated here

    true, but doesnt the system already cap those??  I mean in the example provided by Lin its within a sentence and not at the start of one...

    I actually have no idea if the pronouns are automatically capitalized. I use the plus sign juuuuuust in case.
