In the spirit of character breakdown, but a more nuanced approach to it, I bring you Ash's Guide to RPG Personality & Background. I've found this really helpful in getting myself thinking about personality and motivations on a deeper level than simply, "what is my character's overall goal?" Hopefully it will help some of you, too!

(Personally, I don't advocate sharing completed breakdowns because I'd much rather learn these little nuances on my own, but this thread could potentially serve a purpose beyond the guide itself if anyone wants to start a dialogue about aspects of character development.)

    I had a little time to kill and whipped up a table for Dalton on my wiki userpage.

    I liked the openness of sexual beliefs in this guide. I feel like people are often too quick to discount the theme's importance in character development, whether out of prudishness or fear of cheapening their character.
