When events are going on across multiple locations, including some locked behind org-only areas, and the only communication about what is going on is limited to private tells or other non-public channels despite people attempting to get information more openly.

IC/OOC seperation is a HUGE issue in some players and perhaps in this community as a whole, it is something that has demotivated me at times, and nearly force me to quit playing, if it wasn't for the good people out there being thoughtful and talking me down. With the amount of bandwagoning and just... lacking RP for stuff that could have very well been handled in game, its astounding. I have dealt with this recently, and some very good players, even some of them having been people I have disagreed with in the past, have looked beyond the past, have talked to me politely OOC, and been civil adults about things, which I have appreciated, it is the mature and responsible thing to do.
Being a character which often toes the line against the sensitivities of others, it is my responsibility as a player to be receptive to output provided, to be mature, and to consider how to better myself as a player. I always will welcome feedback maturely, I recently did so because I thought I might have been a source of upset folks, and was reassured that there are much larger over-arching issues, and that in the least my willingness to discuss was appreciated.
Some folks, just cant grasp that though, some folks treat the forums/discord, and the ignore function as a tool to just be assholes, instead of have IC interaction. Then bring problems to the forums to forum RP or discord to talk about players behind the characters.
Now I will preface this that on other characters, I have done things I am not proud of, said things that I am not proud of, and even furthermore, the root of this all, I have learned from my mistakes for ways I have interacted.
But a lot of folks, don't, and frankly it is sad. If you choose to ignore someone or refuse IC interaction, you don't get to be on the OOC shit-slinging parade as well.

Ah, the good ol' "bro it's just my RP, bro" argument to justify awful behavior. I think if you're playing a villain (or any sort of major character in the game now that I think about it) you have perhaps more of a responsibility to add more to the game, rather than just exist to antagonize others. But yeah, sure, let's uh call it playing a "compelling" character, I guess.

I low-key dislike it when people write on public posts picking on people who would rather choose to hunt rather than joining a fight. You really gonna shame people for making the personal choice in trying to pursue level 200 by making them feel like they're obligated to entertain you at a foci fight? That's some attitude and low hanging fruit you're batting at, man.

The shout regarding people being more focused on hunting did not feel directed only towards one individual, but all followers of Bamathis/Shadow tether. In essence, despite not even speaking up or being involved in any of the recent happenings, news posts or ongoing religious rp, it felt like my bashing character got targeted. It really felt like poor form to bring that up in that way.
I also second what Rihrin wrote, because that made me really angry when I heard about it. Shouting about actively preventing someone from reaching level 200 is a unicorn move. Just don't.

It's also pretty shameless to in turn try to pick a fight on the forums, instead of treating this like an in character action, which is what it was.
2.) Whirran made a public post, again in character, and public posts are allowed to have characters respond to them with their own public posts. That's why they're public. Characters write on public posts, not people.
3.) 'You' really gonna shame people...again, my character is shaming people for when they want to make decrees and threats while they have in no way actually shown to be capable of backing up those things.
In character choices have consequences. 'Playing a bad guy' does not preclude the character from consequences. I recommend if you all have an issue with what I posted on public as my character, then you know, you can like, respond back on public, or in tells, or anything else, inside of Aetolia. Making a forum post about 'you' and 'people' for something I did inside of Aetolia is pretty gross, and if I'm honest, borderline hypocritical given the complaints you and Whirran have both had in recent times.

On the off chance it helps underscore the cost of much more finely stratified buff timers, MANIPULATE PYLON FOR WISDOM TRANSMUTE is what, an extra 15% exp over non-transmute for an hour at 25k gold or basically 5 credits. With that in the back of my mind, I'm super happy with the comparative inexpense of chocolates and chalices, their bonuses, and duration. Would extra features and flexibility be nice? Yep. Wouldn't complain if they got added. Not going to advocate for it anymore though.
But, everyone's valuation of credits, time, and even money varies dramatically.

Market value of chocolates is definitely relevant, and the price they're sold for on the extremely infrequent articarts is not the only way that chocolates are valued, especially if you want to get into the average cost per promo/giftbag and how frequently thoes do or don't give away chocolates***. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter how much you value them at. A couple bucks or a few bucks, money's money, and it's a massive bummer to have no solution other than either pouring that money down the drain or avoiding every other aspect of the game (or logging out entirely) until the cooldown has been used up.
I'm also not sure why we're resorting to rating on-topic comments as "off topic," but I suppose we all cope with opposing arguments in unique ways.
***edit: because I can't help myself as a person, I did run another evaluation on the cost of chocolates. Another method of getting them (aside form doing weeklies for 2 weeks just to buy one) is buying the box of chocolates for 15ic. You get anywhere from 3-5 chocolates from a box. This makes chocolates gotten from these boxes worth 3-5ic each. ic sell for about 2 credits each if you're lucky, making the cost, via this method, 6-10cr per chocolate, making the cost $2.09-$3.49 each. This is arguably cheaper (though ics are still hard to get), as long as you feel like ignoring membership costs and all that as a factor. Like I said, it's like dumping coke or pepsi down the drain for no real reason other than "They're good, so flushing money down the toilet is an acceptable tradeoff."

What I can or cannot get a chocolate for outside of articart is irrelevant. It does not change the assumed valuation of a chocolate by the game. Just like the game doesn't care that you're unlikely to sell a chalice to another player for 30 unbound credits. Plus the combination of my infrequent use of chocolates and my stockpile of nondecaying means to generate chocolates, I'm highly unlikely to buy chocolates from another player. Ever.
I also consider myself an off peak player, so attendance at any Celani lead events is extremely unlikely. I would consider it a positive change, though, if things like these Elder God events had a room-specific pause on paid buff timers. Because I agree, if you have the choice to attend a world event, it shouldn't be at the cost of the buffs you presumably paid RL monies for.
