AFK pking. And yes, given the shouts, we all know who I am posting this about. Sometimes I have to go afk while fishing or something. Because I have kids. One is not neurotypical. So if something happens, I don't think to QQ. And taking advantage of that shit is just... it is shitty gaming etiquette.

The entire point is that eventually all classes will be mirrored - what are you looking for in terms of 'uniqueness'?Well, the flavor text is fine but the utility skills being different could in theory have made the classes "feel" like different classes while still pleasing the "everything must be exactly the same" group PvP crowd.
4) Again not sure what you're looking for here. If this is re: your earlier question on thematics, like 'eating corpses', it's styled in a way that makes sense for the theme. Oneiromancer, for example, uses 'haruspicy' with the organs to build up their ability to 'impact fate' instead of eating them for essence. If it's about things like the rite of prayer, the classes have something thematic that also fits. Apocalpytia, for example, has 'Dogma'

This is actually a pretty good example. How would it mess anything up if the rite of dawn clone was done at nightfall, or midnight, or even was replaced with something else entirely? It's not a combat skill anyway. And why would an "Oneiromancer" use organs at all if the organs aren't really impacting the PvP process? At this point I don't feel impressed by the way these have been implemented.
Another possibility might have been to "shuffle" utility skills through different classes, so that each side has more or less the same stuff but the individual classes are still different.

Ten years ago today (okay, yesterday at this hour, but still) I lost my husband to suicide. He was in a dark place, scared that he was never going to change, and that the depression that had hounded him for ten years was going to stay forever. So he took control the only way he thought he could.
I'm not okay with it. He thought he was making things easier for me to move on. He was wrong. His memory will always be here, and once in a while, I still cry for the loss of what and who he could have been. I'm functional. I don't feel like I need help for it. But if I did, that would be okay.
Because reaching out for help is okay. People care about you, sometimes even people you don't realise do.
There are a lot of resources out there if you feel like you can't talk to your friends or family. You're not a burden - the people who staff the support lines, the chat options, therapists and counsellors and all kinds of other people, they do it because they want to help. They want to see you find your way out of the darkness - being the light gives them a little bit of purpose, a little bit of something good to fight all the bad that's out there.
In his memory, I strive to be a little kinder some days, a little brighter, because you never know when your little glow is what gets someone through the darkness.
Be kind to each other.

So...
I just need an outlet to vent, because frankly the past few weeks have been incredibly frustrating, emotional, and overall riddled with anxiety and sadness.
On April 14th, I started to feel sick, like -sick SICK- and of course I had to do the runaround for coronavirus, got put on some antibiotics and symptoms really didn't seem to get better after a week. A week later I started feeling really nauseous and dizzy, I called teledoc which said I needed to make an appointment with my primary care provider, the soonest appointment they could get me in was in two weeks, so I opted to go to urgent care. I arrived at urgent care, and the doctor did a preliminary examination and I was admitted into the hospital. They took blood, did Catscan and Xrays, and put me on more antibiotics, anti-nausea medicine, and I was sent home.
Another week passed, symptoms still not getting better. Back in the same hospital, new doctor didn't seem to be inconvenienced by my visit, did another Catscan, found some foreign bodies in my lower intestine, put me on -more- medicine, referred me to my PC and a GI specialist. The same week followed up with my doctor and GI, MORE blood taken, and markers for cancer were found in my blood, and examination found tumors in my colon. After bloodwork came back it was confirmed I was diagnosed with early stage colon cancer and would need to have surgery to remove what was in my insides.
More blood work was done, and appointment was scheduled, as of a week and a half ago. The soonest the surgery and oncology appointment could be scheduled was June 28th, I was placed on disability and am unable to work, and frankly my entire life has been turned upside down from this. The state approved my disability immediately, but still pending a few other things, ways to pay bills, and losing about 40% of my income due to this. Fast forward to this last Friday, and I received a letter from my employer, that they were not going to honor FMLA, because I had not worked for them for over a year, and that my insurance was being effectively cancelled, so another thing on the list i need to work on. (Yay me.)
As of today, I am still waiting for a consult from my doctor from a week and a half ago, they prescribed me the wrong medication which gave me a reaction (IE Seizures, convulsing and shortness of breath) which I called them about and demanded answers and a new prescription that would not do that, no word on my hemoglobin or blood count levels, no updates from oncology, and messages left daily, and I am sitting here in a position where I have been told "not to stress" obviously stressing. All in all having to face my own mortality, severe or not, is absolutely terrifying, but then I have fortunately had people in the community who have talked me off the ledge lately, and I have been taking my time being around for when I have the brain to escape, and not just using Aetolia as an escape and letting my bad feelings come in.
Overall, I am just frustrated and stressed, and I appreciate the people who allow me to vent, and to those who have been expecting things from me, or needing things, just send me a message I will get back to you, I just have a hard time focusing at the moment. I am hoping to get some answers today, and hopefully then I can sleep and feel rested enough to be part of things again, this weekend has just been rough.

Re: Why (Most) Ministries are Bad for the Game - and what we can do to fix it
Unpopularly I like the ministries because I see them as an opportunity for individuals to go through bursts of activity and make something unique out of them. It's rarely going to be something sustainable, but I think that's okay; there's something to be said about the eras marked by periods of players generating interesting things with their characters as ministers for the cities.
In regards to research tracking for the sake of rewards is tedious, but it is also a player made culture which is really neat! It would be cool to see the game adopt and work it in but I do like the idea that it's an opt-in for the cities as opposed to a hard set standard. Sure it's unlikely any cities will choose to stop rewarding ylem participation but allowing it to exist as a possibility leaves room for RP potential that might involve tightening of the belt story arcs.
I know that it is possible to have a script do all the heavy lifting of research contributions and maybe it's time for the community to support one another in the way we support each other with public systems and share scripts that ease the burden of research ministers that want to minimize that kind of work.

the reason people are reluctant to post is because making the cool kids mad, has and will be bad for them IG see basically the entire History of IRE. going back to IRC chat rooms. At some point understanding that nothing you say, will have any effect on the opinion of the "cool kids", it's like speaking to religious zealots. their faith in their correctness isn't worth the hassle.

Alot of what you people have taken issue with planning things IG on discord I've not seen. I'm in the dominion disco(for now) but I typically try to avoid discord servers because in my experience they all breed toxic.
I understand you see -this- as an issue. but it's a damned if you do damn if you don't. for example as Empress I took a hard nosed stand point and booted people who were openly disrespectful. Who attacked guild leaders as in pvp. and that was seen as -abuse of power- at the time. on the same token the dominion is accused of being to soft for the goals of the admin theme wise. Which is it?
It's miss leading to take screen shots of people venting and then saying actions were planned. engagement with -you- all isn't really worth it to many of the people you openly attack. because no matter the point they raise you will :
o deflect calling it a derail
o call it what about ism
o go full character attack not character but the content of their person...
o over look everything Tetchta did because "valid IC reasons" sure we can call em that
o carnifex attacking, threats to kill any who call out tetchta for trying to divide bloodloch

Someone needs to be the bigger person. if I had it my way all OOC disco servers not dealing with mudlet/system support would be closed because they are CANCER across the board. some are just better at hiding their dirty laundry.
The dominion does have an issue, being told by the Admin to "fix it" then getting little to no direction on how. abhorash char logged in refuses to respond to questions IC or OOC. the admin not just coming out and saying what they want.
Lets be honest this all stems from an OOC dislike of callidora, who by all metrics isn't perfect. but neither are any of us.

I haven't played in ages and mainly just lurk forums occasionally, but it seems like there's been multiple threads like this(like the Teradrim one) that keep getting started by or primarily populated by the same people. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to comment in here, because Kurak and Iazamat and Bulrok and others seem to be positively seething for their opportunity to dole out public justice. If there is a problem on this level, I think it should be taken to admins, not litigated on forums. These threads always get nasty as hell and seem more to sway/consolidate public opinion.
EDIT: Also I have two questions:
How can an alt army sway a sudden contestation? Vote weight exists and takes RL weeks to accrue.
Why does the sudden promotion have to be OOC, and not IC favoritism, which is allowed?

I have no idea what the implication is here. But uh, my guy, I'm not part of anyone's alt army. I don't particularly enjoy interacting with you because you seem to be incapable of seeing other people's viewpoints, especially if they're opposite your own. But am I gonna go out of my way to.. I don't know what this post is even implying.. make alts to vote in a Dominion election or you think I think about you outside the confines of these ridiculous forum posts or the Aetolia discord? I mean, don't flatter yourself, boo.
Also worth noting that at the time the owner of said server removed everyone who was 'toxic'. Most of those players have been removed. You removed yourself. I'm a little confused on the tea, but you removing yourself at the same time Zima did, Zima's attachment to Sryaen, Sryaen's constant passive aggressive interactions, Zima's colossal meltdown, etc etc, all start to paint an incredibly clear picture.
Only semi-related, but: Some of my friends from Imperian once told me about a unique artifact in Imperian. It wasn't one you bought with money or credits. It was something you happened upon by fate. The artifact is known as The Bottomless Well Of Cause. I think I've found it in Aetolia, and I should probably use it.
My LOL reacts to this entire thread is because this is seems to accomplish nothing in the grand scheme of things. Sure, it may shine some visible light on some probably very real, very valid problems, but the manner in which it was done so (and the subsequent dogpiling by a handful of the same people) makes this whole thread seem like a circlejerk. I think if the issues really wanted to be addressed, an e-mail to Ictinus or a mass message between Icti, Callidora and any other pertinent individuals would've been the better way to handle it.
