You're skipping the point entirely to highlight maluses that are not relevant to the subject being debated.not really, what I was highlighting in this case was the fact that there are two different items happening here. the Preanomen class being tied to the Dominion as a Guild, and then the Vampire Race as a whole. They have very different RP stances, in that you can never be in the Preanomen class but still be a Vampire being in a House and part of the Bloodline. No other Guild has a Bloodline or need to be Sired like the Dominion does.
To be honest I am all for the Dominion being a guild and feel it is well over due and should have been done years ago. However the race of a Vampire is something that still is in limbo and needs to be dealt with. If the Dominion keeps the race of a Vampire, does this mean the Teradrim can be a race of Earthen? (and have it show up in our description like Vampire does) Is or would that be possible? This ties into what is or is not a rogue now, since as a Vampire we are still sired and in our House, we still are in the bloodline as well. Which has been said many times so far here.
To get back to your point about spreading our influence out, the Houses are and have always been seen more of a Family than anything else, at least that is how I have seen them and I know several others see that as well. So influencing the family is the same as any other in the land with their bloodlines that can be registered. The Dominion is still part of a city just like any other guild, and as for joining other guilds, as I stated above, we can still be in Guilds as a Vampire, just not be in the Dominion. So in reality that has not changed either.

when they could join other guilds and still be a vampire.being a Vampire in this case was more of a race than the class in itself. Being in the guild and the class of the guild or any other class, came with more negatives than anything when they are a Vampire as well. We burn in the sun, need to feed for blood, lose blood if not sired and what not, while even in another class that is not Praenomen. We could not even access any of the blood powers even if they are an RP sense, like Sire, Embrace, Entomb, deathlink and so on unless in the Prae class.

I was just reading in the Town crier thread guild and cities where...

This whole forcing of vampires to join the Dominion guild is exactly the same thing as the tethering of city/guilds.. unfair and damaging to individuals and to the Houses.

Glad you added that last bit.
So we'll try to keep "scale of threat" in mind more than "scale of effort" for what constitutes major/minor. Unfortunately, minor things with lots of mob animation and new items can be worse than a war that's precoded.
Gonna come out swingin' and say I disagree with the points presented by players in this thread. Scale of threat matters, but I would honestly prefer that we continue to 'save the world' in every event, as opposed to 'rescue this cat from a tree'. If the consequences of an event are not scary from an In Character perspective, I'm eventually going to find it hard to come up with a compelling reason to ask myself or my guild/city/council/order to participate aside from "lol, it is an event."
If your events consist of low-scale threats from a roleplay perspective, I am likely to be far less engaged in the event unless its actual mechanics are fun or there's organic roleplay to be had. This was the root of my motivation to have my character campaign to eradicate the mhun instead of going along with the 'hey we're spirit so we save people' narrative. The narrative 'size' of the racial panic surrounding the mhun was very ho-hum - by no fault of any volunteer, mind you, but instead by reductionist or narrow-minded thinking in Spirit at the time. The narrative of Aetolia has made it clear that Sapient adventurers sort of are epic level characters. If you demote us back to cleaning the latrines, so to speak, I lose the sense that there's something 'Player Character' about Aetolia's PCs aside from handwaved agelessness.

Pinstripes and fedoras are at the top of the list Becue is asking we destroy. They're great examples, people always go back to "Well, you allow fedoras, why can't I have a cowboy hat?" and that's exactly why we wish they'd go away.
It's not hating fun, it's wanting to present a consistent world to interact in. Yes, some people like those things and want them, but we're not a sandbox, we're a living world with lore and its own cultures. While we want to give players the ability to create their own bits, we don't want to be Second Life.

Being one of the more prominent crafters and still really enjoying crafting, and having been an approver in the past and gone through designs extensively even when I haven't been an approver, I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that quite a few of the existing rulings are pretty fair and I do kind of feel like some crafters overreact to inconveniences that are minor at best. Sometimes spelling and grammar are just terrible, and have in the past made me dread going through the queue. A LOT of people don't bother reading design guidelines and are surprised when they get rejected.
As far as language stuff goes? Yes. Aetolia is pretty inconsistent when it comes to things named after stuff that exists in the real world or strongly based in regional languages. We have kimonos, and we can have haori shirts, but katanas are not a thing, and sushi is not a term you can use. We have tamales and tequila, but can't have drinks called daquiris or mojitos.
And y'know what? That's fine by me. It just means you need to get CREATIVE. Yeah. Heaven forbid you need to power some extra brain cells to coin your own terms or make up something catchy.
I tried designing a mimosa drink not long ago since mimosas are actually the name of a flower. It was ruled that it was a no-go, but you know what I did? I changed it. The name became Morning Marigold instead, and it actually fit better.
