Perhaps win condition is the wrong term. You have a set goal that you can actively influence with mechanics while we have a goal that is basically: nothing for you to do until they act. Perhaps my frustration is that it seems that Enorian, during these events of wars and conflict with one another, is always forced on the defensive. We are a city that is meant to bring the age of dawn but we get no story beats of going to wherever and purging the undead population. Everything we do in the grand scheme of the game is reactive and it might be THAT fact that makes this feel like more of the same and causing my issue.
Edit: Perhaps that is on us though and we should try and force those kinds of events...

This is more than mildly irritating but instead of starting a whole thread on it:
Dropping a mechanic that starts a war without giving spirit a way to counter it other than 'stand there and wait for them to come to you'. It feels this war was designed for us to lose and I do not like that. I have no problem losing legitimately but this is crap.
Edit: I am noticing a lot of laughs or disagree from Shadow players. I am trying very hard not to make this an us vs them so if you could explain why you disagree? And please keep in mind, you lot have a goal to achieve and a way to do it. All we can do is fortify troops. We don't have a win condition except "Well maybe if we win enough fights they will give up"

I try and make it a point to get both sides of the story before offering feedback/judgment/whatever because to truly understand something you need to have all sides of the story. When Nipsy stated he did not have interest in discussing IC things OOCly, I believe I respected that boundary in my subsequent message to him. Whether it was appropriate to message him in the first place is an entirely different question. I do not feel that I am wrong in my assumption that it was appropriate given that *he stated in a public forum* that he was allegedly open to OOC feedback on his character. Again, I feel like I respected his stated boundaries while attempting to engage in good faith dialogue. In hindsight, it was foolish to think that. It's equally foolish to think that my own boundaries would be respected or considered when they never have been in the past.
I also can't help but feel that Nipsy's above-quoted post just oozes with hypocrisy. Why not just jump straight to the "OOC shit-slinging parade" when you refuse interaction you invited? Why not contribute to the bandwagoning? It's the same group of people doing the same things without consequences and I feel that all avenues for recourse have been exhausted and I'm tired of it. If you are open to mature feedback, there you have it.
It's fine, though. Rather, it isn't fine, but it doesn't matter. I'm done. This was the final straw in a series of issues that have slowly been simmering for months and abruptly exploded violently over the course of a few days. I do not feel that Aetolia is a space welcoming of the diversity I represent, and I'd honestly rather go volunteer my time and money within my local community instead of spending either here for now.
With that, I reject the notion that the blame here lies entirely with me. I also won't pretend to be blameless in this situation, either. So:
Nipsy, I am sorry if you felt my approach was inappropriate and violated your boundaries, and I'm sorry if you felt your only recourse was to jump straight to the forums and 'name names'. Truly, know that I wish I had communicated my intentions better as well as understood your expectations better so this could have gone much differently and lead to a more positive gaming experience for everyone.

It does seem to me that there's something going on here in general with these two afflictions that aren't being told to us. I'm no expert, but it feels like it would be pretty easy to only make them apply if they are triggered off health or mana damage received, and only received from player sources. At that point, if it truly was only player sources that trigger it, I'd probably raise the threshold too, because like @Sryaen said, if you're at 25% health for shock in PVP, you're probably dead soon after anyways regardless of what it does.
In my experience from doing the stream, and going to the townhalls, it does seem like the Pools have the sentiment of 'PVE power creep' existing and being a thing they're aware of. I can understand that sentiment to an extent, but this does not seem to be a great way to go about fixing it, as has been stated repeatedly.

And, not that I'm trying to stir things up, but I'd say it's fair to note you're enemied to the Dominion, so this feels more than a little self serving. Perhaps instead of trying to push a mechanical change through, work through that RP to fix your status and gain the privilege of vampiredom.OH MY GOD.
EDIT: also can I just say that what you said was pretty nasty? Like that post is entirely a good faith idea of what I think would be good for the game, and insinuating that I'm doing something to get one over on The Dominion because, ICly, I'm enemied to the guild is a super disgusting insinuation, and I really wish players like you would stop assuming that just because they have zero IC/OOC separation, the rest of us don't either.
Edit The Second: Also my entire OP was geared toward making vampirism more exclusive and special, literally the opposite of what you're implying. God this post tilted me, lmao.
