You will not lose your accumulated marks or standings in the Sect (aside from perhaps being removed from the Sect Council if you were there to begin with).There are also numerous chat clients (Pidgin, Trillian) that let you combine your MSN, AIM, ICQ (lol), IRC connections all in one nice little place!
