Subj: Boggle at My Goggle...promo

It's time for Promotions! EVERYONE LOVES PROMOTIONS! Even when Tiur kinda messes them up to suit His own
agenda.

Details will follow the brief notes of what the sale focuses on:

Lesson sale! Check the website for packages of lessons you may buy directly. Go learn a new class!
Cryptic Chests! Everyone loves those. New items detailed below. The loot tables hav been significantly redone
in order to fit in something fun... salvage! While the Tiered Promo is not what we're 'officially' working on,
this is a much requested promo, so we made it work.

For those not in the know, Salvage lets you visit Qeddwyn and EXCHANGE for Antiquated Artifacts, including the
Gauntlets, Riding Crop, and Ring. Salvage bound to you can be exchanged for level 1 of the artifact, but after
that initial level any salvage works. So trading is allowed!

But it would be boring to ONLY put in salvage, so here, have a new Antiquated Artifact.

New things:
Venantium Clockwork Goggles
------------------------------------
This Antiquated Artifact replicates the function of your standard goggles for seeing mists, but also includes
a large number of lenses designed to boost your visual acuity. From new vision skills to improved old vision
skills, to strange things I hid and won't tell you about! GOGGLE MODEL will tell you the interesing things
about your particular goggles. Defenses are turned off or on with GOGGLE TOGGLE .

Level 1: HEATSIGHT and NIGHTSIGHT - Sure, they kinda do the same thing... but this is both! And without
mana/eq cost.
Level 2: MINDSEYE and THIRDEYE - Never buy enchantments or tattoos for those things again! And without mana/eq
cost.
Level 3: Your awareness is increased. RITES/VIBES/SECRETS/TRAPS/FORTS ... none of these take balance or
equilibrium for you.
Level 4: AUDITSIGHT . Now you can see someone else's Audit and pick your damage accordingly.
Level 5: OVERWATCH. This is like Treewatch and Skywatch combined, but it doesn't have a mana or willpower
drain.
Level 6: Weatherbane: It's like you have goggles of whitesight, but it also sees through fog!
Level 7: Hypersight becomes less mana intensive, and Vigilance has its efficacy increased. Never be tricked
again.
Level 8: Access to INSIGHT. Your goggles enhance your vision so well, you can literally see thoughts!
Level 9: LIFEVISION. See all that shows signs of life, even undead.
Level 10: PHASESENSE - Now the Syssin can hate Me, this will let you attempt to PHASESENSE and find
those sneaky phased types.
Level 11: Deathsight messages come with information on the room where the person died.
Level 12: OBSERVE without eq/mana!
Level 13: GOGGLE SCAN - Look at someone's SCORE! Mock them for not finishing that last 5% on their
level.
Level 14: SHAREDSIGHT - Share your improved sight with allies in the room. Has a mana drain.
Level 15: LEYLINES will have improved range
Level 16: FISHSIGHT - Learn all about those fishies. How many, what those elusive 'unknown' types are, even
what you have on the line.
Level 17: Access to the LIPREADING defense. Now you know what they're saying about you. Because they are
talking about you, you know.
Level 18: GOGGLE SEEK : Find out where they are, how they're doing, and who they're with.
Level 19: Focisight - GOGGLE ATTUNE, and now you will see exactly where Foci appear in that area, no matter
where you are.
Level 20: DIVINESIGHT - If it's there, you can see it. (planes, continents, chameleon) And if you don't want
to see it, you see through it (doors, walls, other people trying to FARSEE/SEEK you). And it might do other
odd things. We Divine see all, you know.
Special: At level 4, you unlock the ability to modify the Goggles description and name into an alternate
version. Every 4 levels after that unlocks another 'skin'. In order, goggles, circlet, eyeball (single
eyesocket wearloc), thirdeye (new wear loc), cuff (earcuff).

New minipets!
-------------
a fuzzy penguin chick (avian)
a brightly plumed peacock (avian)
an iron clawed crab (aquatic)
an iridescent isopod (aquatic)
a miniaturized twister (elemental)
a restless spectre (spirit)
an armored viper (reptile)
a large furry moth (insect)

*NOTE: I decided on a method for rarity. Largely it depends on how many are already out there. The first
person to get a minipet will always get a 6*. After that, there are odds for 5*/6*, and they steadily fall as
more and more exist. What does this mean? Nothing, it's meaningLESS.

Relics
------
Flair
Shrubbing
Angled
Stormhorn
Trapgold
Mistjar
Sensebacklash
afterimage
flames
tokenpress
grapnel

*NOTE: I realize that by prioritizing the salvage, the relic list is lacking in new items. Sorry! Because the
refresh takes place roughly around Townhall Time, I will not promise a refresh. If it's important, go to the
forums and get it on the agenda.

And that's that! I apologize for the delay, but there was a bit of a difficulty with the chest loot tables and
salvage. Keep in mind that typically salvage is 'worth' 100cr, and you'll get an idea of the droprate in
chests. Also, I took out the venom rag. NO VENOM RAGS.

-T

PS: For those of you worried by the concept of reworked loot tables on the chests: Mostly, I did this by
taking things out. You will not see shapeshifter pelts, Atav Charms, or Hoods of Elusion. Chances for credits
upped, but chances for exp chalices, arti vials, and general artifacts are a bit lower... because salvage IS
an artifact. Technically chests are increased in overall credit value for this promo.

I did not explain well!

Salvage, specifically "antiquated artifact salvage" has a chance to appear within a cryptic chest, much like
any other prize. This specific item is taken to Qeddwyn, who can exchange it. The syntaxes are in HELP
ANTIQUATED ARTIFACTS.

This may be done at any time. You can hold on to your salvage as long as you like. You can sell it, you can
buy it! Hoard it away if you hate the current Antiquated Artifact. Do not eat it. The Pools are not
responsible for the results of eating ancient Ankyrean artifacts.

Sorry for the misunderstanding!

    Honestly?

I hope people are willing to sell salvages.

  • Is salvage going to be forever in Cryptic Chests? If so, I'd be more willing to shoot for cryptic chests, because that's pretty much all I want out of them aside from minipets.

For anyone wanting to see a rough drop chance for items:

15 chests, 1 salvage, and a handful of other stuffs.

Nope, they'll only be in chests for this month!

If you haven't caught the skinny, I am not so mean as to make you guess. Salvage is set at 12%. I want informed purchases in my players.

Except the other stuff. That's a seekrit.

@Tiur Can the antiquated goggles have a feature like the expensive goggles, to let you ATTUNE a specific mist? For the higher chance of dropping that specific mist?

Edit: Otherwise, I'll become the weird bug that wears two separate goggles and has to remember which one to lift for which effect.

I'll buy the salvage from you if it helps, @Satomi.
  • @Tiur Could you possibly increase how long goggle toggle lifevision lasts so it's not so spammy, even if it doesn't require eq and bal to put back up?

  • @Sarita I don't hate life enough to make myself more miserable :P

  • @Tiur since we can see just about everything about other people with the goggles, could we possibly get a GOGGLE DIAGNOSE ? Even if it's not remote?

Lot of overlap with other artifacts with the goggles if anything makes it less appealing >_>

I admit that it makes Vision less appealing, but the goggles feel overpowered to me. All that balanceless, drainless defense buffering is way too useful.

I also want to know what divinesight would actually reveal. o:)

  • TeaniTeani Shadow Mistress Sweden
The goggles already overlap/outdo the bracer artifact (goggle seek says who are in the room, while the bracers only say how many). If diagnose is added, it's another overlap with that artifact, even if it's not remote. Not sure how I feel about that.

No new skin at level 20? Or is it a surprise?

No new skin at 20. The earcuff is kinda neat though.

Also, @Teani Goggle seek is just angel seek with a new skin I thought.

  • TiurTiur Producer
...I had to add another in, because I realized I started the skins at 4, and unlocking the goggle skin of "goggle" was not very exciting. It now goes goggle, glasses, etc etc
    Vash
  • TeaniTeani Shadow Mistress Sweden
@Xavin, I wouldn't know, don't have it. It says you find out where and how they are, as well as who they are with. Bracers only give number of people at the location, not names.

  • So...what are people doing with all of their ylem amulets?

These seem like odd items to put in chests in the first place as they have a very fast unstoppable decay and you have a hard limit of being able to use only three at a time.

I dropped everything ylem related that came from the chests at the "central" area in my city. Useless stuff is useless, and available without chests. Last two chests I got was actually all sigils and ylem crap. Don't even understand why they have a chance of those things being in there.

I opened a lot of chests. The most I received in a single one was a level 3 hunting artifact. I was unlucky in my distribution of salvage but overall I would say I definitely received my money's worth in bound credit value. A bit more of a hassle than buying the credits directly but you get more and it is a lot more fun to open chests.

The number of repeats though is a bit annoying. I have grown to hate the mist jar and shrubbing artifacts.

When I re-roll relic pieces do I roll on the same table that the chests use? I am not seeing anything new yet.
Typically In Game: JST (GMT+9) 6AM-8AM and 6PM-10PM
  • You roll within the same set as that artifact came out in. So I believe the wand/jar also has the black cloth, trapped coin, etc.

  • Overally cryptic chests were rather satisfying this weave. Though one point or rather an idea:

About Llesian necklaces. They generally are a 1/3 loss from full value considering their worth is 100cr for one time while unlimited version (Gem of Transmutation) is 1000cr. What could be better is to allow people to combine Llesian necklaces into Gem of Transmutation. That could give a very good drive for people to complete for the unlimited artifact instead of turning in for 2/3 value of the necklaces. Just a side idea, since in the future those chests will keep yielding necklaces.
