Good songs

These threads crop up every now and then, but I don't think we've had one for a while. Drop good songs you're enjoying lately for others to hear! (also because TT is dead and plug dj lags me too bad to use often).

Here are some songs I've been digging lately. Share your own!

Arctic Monkeys "Do I Wanna Know" (newish album, quite liking it):

Standfast "Devil" (adore her voice)

The Presets "Ghost"

Peter Fox "Alles Neu"

The Unseen Guest "Let Me In"

Ween "A Tear for Eddie"

Sea Wolf "O Maria!"

Alt-J "Breezeblocks"

Glad to see I'm not the only one who loves Alt-J. I remember sharing that same link before on the forums.

The Guggenheim Grotto - Fee Da Da Dee

Lana Del Rey (Album Version, not radio remix) - Summertime Sadness

Love Alt-J, seen them live. Love Ghosts by The Presets. Please put names for people not able to play the videos. I will post one song I love listening to before leaving, but will try and post some more whenever I can.

    Osaka Loop Line by Discovery

Good call, went back and edited that in.

@Nola, that first song is goood, played it on repeat a few times. The Lana Del Rey, that version is SO much better than that remix they have on the radio.

@Setne, I had Discovery on loop like a year or two ago when I first found them. Definitely like!

  • Some modern trip-hop for Omei:

I can't stop listening to Burial's Untrue LP, even though it came out years ago. Can't remember if I've posted it before in the loved thread:

And for something completely different, have the best song from the best metal album (maybe the best album period) of the year:

    Gramatik "Unfallen Kingdom"

    Manchester Orchestra "Virgin"

    The original YOLO

How I feel about all the drama plaguing me at work. And I just like it when I want to hulk out at work.

Just a heads up, I discovered an easy way to embed youtube videos on forums. See the Remove Hyperlink button (third last button that looks like a broken paperclip)? Highlight your link and select that. It'll remove it as a link and replace it as plaintext and thus allowing it to properly embed when you post.

    @Ferrik: Bahahaha, those were awesome.

@Draiman: Ya know... I was pretty skeptical about some of those but they're actually pretty piff. I liked the Five Finger Death Punch - Over and Under It a lot.

@Haven Really the only "bad" one is the first one. You Only Live Once - Suicide Silence, for those who didn't bother with the link :P

Also I love you for liking Chester.

"And I stay looking within, so what I write is introsepctive. It's like I'm Robocop and killin' sh-- is my directive."

That MIGHT just be the single best hip-hop lyric I've ever heard.

    Smooth, Idriya.

Also I imagine your sig dancing to the beat.

EDIT: I suppose I should add some music to this thing huh?

    Been on folk kick lately.

That last one has fueled fantasies of turning Cannan into a Dylan-esque troubadour who wanders around Spinesreach with a big black acoustic guitar singing pretentiously cryptic folk songs at women. The trick is that he'll never learn to actually play, even after years of practice.

    This is happening.

@Cannan - check out Two Gallants. They are kinda like Bob Dylan, but a bit more raw:

@Draiman - if you like loud stuff, I think Murder City Devils were great:

Nick Cave, Assassination of Jesse James sountrack

    Meiko, "Leave the Lights On"

Played this one a few times on TT. Wait for the drop.
Two Steps from Hell, "Alls well that ends well"

I like me my emo music. >_<
    Okkervill River "Another Radio Song"

Angus and Julia Stone "Draw Your Swords"

Andrew Bird "Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left"

    Railroad Earth "Mourning Flies"

    Emilie Autumn "A Strange Device"

    Wild Sweet Orange "Aretha's Gold"

    The Donkeys "Lower the Heavens"

    Dr. Dog "Heart it Races"

I know @Aarbrok already posted this but it's been playing for a few days over here-

    Scissor Sisters - I Can't Decide

I've been playing this lately. It seems to fit in with Asper, for some reason.

    Saint's Row 4 - Matt's Text Adventure

    Kimbra - Settle Down

    Purity Ring - Belispeak

Trentemøller - Even Though You're With Another Girl

Cocteau Twins - I wear Your Ring

Anything from this album '01011001' by Ayreon is golden. Just pure gold. Always makes me think of Spines.

    Ayreon - The Sixth Extinction
