We are currently working on making a series of basic novice guides and the following information from each guild/house would be very useful to assist with this:

- Guildhall location/entrance vnum (including special entrance commands, eg HEARTBEAT MINSJA)
- Basic intro guild scroll (eg GHELP WELCOME, GHELP RECRUITS, etc)
- Basic novice bashing attack(s)
- Core profession defences (eg 
- Basic profession-based equipment (eg scalemail for Syssin)
- Any other pertinent information for your guild/house that you think would be suitable for a basic, quick novice guide.
- Guild uniform (if any)

If you feel like helping out, posting the above information in this thread would be very much appreciated!

    Shamans

    Guildhall
    -Vnum 43675, STAFFRAISE IVARYEN

    Basic Introduction
    -HELP GUILDNOVICES SHAMANS is our main file, but GHELP UNBLOODED is a slimmed down set of requirements

    Basic Hunting Abilities
    -COMMUNE LIGHTNING @TAR - we have a file named GHELP HUNTING to point out basics on combat and defenses

    Basic Hunting Defenses
    -SHAMAN PROTECTION, SHAMAN SPIRITMASK, Fetishes for the Quartersaff (typical for bashing is Horn, Tooth, Bark), various oaths in Shamanism (Elder Shaman, Nature's Blade, and Durdalis most useful if they have them)

    Profession-Based Equipment
    -Quarterstaff (COMMUNE QUARTERSTAFF) and ringmail

    Other
    -GHELP OATHS can be helpful to explain Shamanism oaths.

    Uniform
    None. Just wear some freaking clothes.

    HELP GUILDNOVICES ASCENDRIL for introductory stuff, GHELP AETHER WARD for requirements

    Basic novice bashing attacks
    CHANNEL FIRE/WATER/SPIRIT and then CAST BEAM <target> until you've got enough mana for aetherstaff (definitely by level 10).

    Core profession defence
    CAST VEIL

    Profession-based equipment
    Cast an aetherstaff when you can and get a shield to help with defense. No armour.

    Uniform
    None

    Extra
    When you can, CAST AETHERSTAFF, WIELD AETHERSTAFF, STAFFCAST (lightning, dissolution, scintilla OR horripilation) AT (target). This is much better than Beam.

    SMITE @TAR (you must first SUMMON MACE) which is channeled.

    Core Profession Defence:

    None, but we encourage kids to learn HANDS in Devotion for healing.

    Profession-based equipment:

    Splintmail, Shield (of any sort), fist sigil for mace since mobs break arms

    Uniform

    None, though we may revise this later.

    A lofty gatehouse (v3639) - PUSH GATES

    Basic intro guild scroll
    GHELP INITIAL TRAINING for directions and learning stuff, and GHELP PAGES for progression reqs.

    Basic novice bashing attacks
    STRIKE with a buckler and shortsword. Doubleswing (DSW) with bastard sword/warhammer once you learn enough in Battlefury.

    Core profession defences
    AURA BLESSING <protection/healing/meditation/redemption>
    AURA <protection/healing/redemption>

    *Can have up to 3 active blessings, but only one active aura
    * Auras and blessings only become accessible once you leave novicehood and get access to Righteousness.

    Basic profession-based equipment
    Shortsword and buckler for strike, fullplate, bastard sword or warhammer once you get access to Doubleswing.

    Extra
    * When bashing with other people, ally each other so they can benefit from your active aura.
    * When picking a weapon mastery in Battlefury, select the Shortsword mastery for as long as you're using Strike to bash since it reduces your endurance drain.
    * All abilities in Bladefire except for Sacrifice are useless for bashing; you're better off investing in Battlefury and Righteousness once you get it.

    Guild uniform
    In the process of getting it changed, but right now it's a shirt, pants, boots, and gambeson; all sold by Ta'lionu.

    - it's at The Chamber of Geryon (v9160), but not accessed while a novice

    - GHELP HEMIC ASPIRANTS

    Basic novice bashing attack(s)
    - FRENZY <target>
     
    Core profession defences
    - none initially; Fortify comes at Skilled/33%, which is available after getting a Sire

    Basic profession-based equipment
    - shield; BB don't wear armor

    Extra
    - it's recommended (though not required) to join a vampiric House
    - Bloodborn/vampire advancement differs from other guilds/classes - finding a Sire is mandated by game mechanics, can't advance by learning

    - no

    -EARTH BATTER (target)  --However a lot of the Terramancy skills can be used to attack mobs

    Basic Hunting Defenses
    -EARTH RESONANCE - gives increased health regeneration

    Profession-Based Equipment
    -Flail (though the Teradrim can make our own flails with formation, we always have better damage flails for sell in the Guild Shop)
    -Scalemail
    -Shield

    Other
    -GHELP NOVICES and GHELP GROTTO

    Uniform
    None, just have clothes on to cover themselves.

    Bahir'an

    House entrance
    -The entrance to the Bahir'an Estate v28792. Sections to the east and south are open to everyone, but the rest is for HR 3 and up.

    Basic introduction
    -HHELP WELCOME for everyone, HHELP FOR NIGHTSTALKERS for general requirements applicable to anyone joining for Slaver's Isle or from the Bloodborn guild.

    Hunting attack
    -FRENZY (target). Damage scales with skillrank in Corpus, so learning as high as possible in the skill is helpful.

    Basic hunting defenses
    -FORTIFY at the skilled rank of Corpus might be achieved with a divine boon/favor/blessing, but otherwise isn't available until after being sired.
    -LIFEVISION at inept in Mentis (everyone starts out with it) can help avoid confrontations over who was in a room bashing first if someone is hidden or shrouded.

    Basic equipment
    -Scalemail for those pursuing the Praenomen class, but no armor for those in the Bloodborn guild.
    -Some sort of shield.

    Other
    -HHELP GETTING STARTED has lots of details for true newbies.
    -They should make sure to use analeptic and stimulant serums instead of the health and mana that are currently in the game tutorial. A piercing needle is required to use serums.
    -Do not accept an offer to be sired by anyone outside of the House, or anyone in it who is not listed in HHELP SIRES.

    Uniform
    -We used to have something, but don't currently. For now, just don't be naked. I have been tempted to come up with something new though. Can I get back to you on that before things are formalized?
